Unlimited PTO is 100% a scam
Unlimited PTO means the company doesn't "owe" you accrued PTO, doesn't carry it on it's balance sheet, and doesn't pay it out if you leave. Functionally, you will probably end up taking the same number of days off in a year, maybe less since their is no counter that shows what you should be using up. It's actually more favorable to the company than you, but it feels like a perk.
Deloitte’s PTO is generous. I cashed out a lot when I left. The problem with unlimited PTO is you can’t take any with you when you leave.
Psychologically people with unlimited PTO take less than if they had a set amount.

I love Deloitte's PTO, holidays, collective disconnect, parental leave, etc. It's one of the main reasons I'm still here
I might be 👀
Go to an industry firm/startup that has unlimited PTO so that you won’t have to worry about utilization rates if that’s your concern
Either way, I’ve enjoyed having unlimited PTO in the past

Idk, one of my engagements we would work alongside some Deloitte members and they seemed to have less days off than we did. I'm talking about firm-wide disconnects. Not sure if they took more vacation time off than I did with EY's ✨unlimited PTO✨.
I have unlimited and will take about 25 vacation days this year (started 3/1). I’ve also taken close to 2 weeks to tend to health issues for my kid that kept her out of school. I think I’ve also taken a 3 sick days to tend to myself.
