Rising Star
I landed my first role mainly through networking. About 15 years go, a friend of the family found about a job opening at the place she was working, and recommended me for it. And I ended up getting it. It was as an Accounting Clerk. It was a contract role, so the benefits were not that great. And I lasted their about 2.5 years before I landed a full-time regular role at my current company with better benefits.

I graduated many years ago but was fortunate to have been hired before I graduated from college. That being said, many people were hired by companies where they worked as a summer intern, were already working part-time while attending college or participated in the co-op program where they were hired by one of the companies that they worked for during the co-op program. (I am referring to Northeastern University in Massachusettts.)
