McKinsey & Company Hey folks!
Was wondering what sort of life sciences projects does usually the Boston Consulting Group and McKinsey & Company take on?
Commercial, access and pricing, M&A, transformation, implementation? (all of them perhaps?)
Basically, what would someone with an LS background be mainly working on in these firms on a day-to-day basis?
Thanks!

Do you mean senior analyst? Or señor associate perhaps?
Rising Star
Not sure if that title formally exists. Some people put senior EM while waiting for AP, when that doesn't exist
It’s a real title, more prevalent in non-US locations.
I have a buddy who is a McK Sr ASC. Lots of industry experience, no MBA. Promoted from kind of a super BA direct to Sr ASC. It’s what McK1 says, effectively associate with some tenure
A peer from bschool left as a BA and went back as Assoc after being sponsored. After a short stint, he was promoted to Sr Assoc so was curious. Thanks for the info!
In some offices there’s a “DTSA” designation. Direct to senior associate. Meaning a BA is promoted to the equivalent of a 1+0 Associate.
What is the typical McKinsey career path (US titles). Also, I have heard of specialist roles — how are those different from traditional roles?
Most folks out of MBA have 5-6 years experience. So ASC for 1.5-2.5 years, EM, then AP.
