I will not hesitate to invest/save for retirement and throw a few k into those accounts regularly, but when it comes to myself I hesitate to buy anything unless I absolutely need it? Im a minimalist and if stuff still works I will keep it. Ex- my car is 12 yrs old, most clothes are 4+ yrs old, etc. It seems like everyone else in consulting/my age (24) seems to care about having the nicest newest things. Am I weird for not caring about that stuff? I feel left out

I have some collections on my credit report. One from an electric company for $800 (imo they violated terms of contract and sent me to collections in spite of their fuck up), and an apartment for $80~ that charged me a cleaning fee when my apartment was spotless.

Despite these two collections have a 712-720 credit score.

So mortgage lenders care at all about the collections or is it mostly the credit score that matters?

Got the rent negotiated to under 3k + free amenities for a year (gym, pool, etc.). I’m afraid rent will atleast go back to the original price (+5%) and then some. The building has some sort of rent control but that’s predicted to go away in less than 1 year as per the lease. The legal rent limit is way higher.
