What does being terminated as an associate look like during WFH? Our office is having a serious drop in billable hours. If one of us was terminated, how awkward is it to get things from the office?

Probably not very, everyone is working from home.

like

We have about 10-15 staff working regularly in the office. Plus a few of the older partners who don't understand technology. But point well taken. Less people there makes is less awkward.

Go in on a weekend?

like

I’ve had the same thought, I have so much personal stuff in my office (pictures, shoes, books, personal documents), it will take me a good hour to sort through it and get it out. I would probably go in late one evening or on the weekend if it happened to me.

like

That's what I was thinking. And if this does happen to me, I'd hope they would be ok with me coming in to get my own stuff.

I got laid off. Not awkward at all. And I had to make like 10 trips up the elevator to return files 🤦🏼‍♀️

I got laid off and they had support staff mail me all my belongings and I had to ask for photos of everything to make sure none of my items were missing.

Yeah havent touched anything in my boxes bc who knows what the other person who went through all the belongings had or didn't have.

I have a promising interview at a relatively large law firm in my area (+100 attorneys) next week. The position is for a transactional role in their real estate practice group, and they are seeking someone with at least 2 YOE. I have a bit over 7 YOE with a strong real estate/commercial lit. background. Over the past two years in my current position, I've been doing a lot more transactional work. The split is around 50% transactional and 50% lit.
