McKinsey & Company I did my final round with McKinsey today, and I I received a rejection call from the partner today. However, he said I did really great and wants to keep in touch with me. He also mentioned that I should reapply in 6 months. Does anyone have any similar experience? Do I have a better chance if I reapply next time?McKinsey & Company
I had interviewed for an internship position at EY for technology consultant program for summer 2022 and got a call where they extended an offer. I wanted to know if I can defer the internship offer to fall 2022 or a later start date after summer.
I apologize as I cannot reply to a comment or DM on this platform to anyone, but thanks for your answers in advance.
Hello Sharks, I recently gave interview of Tiger Analytics and after all successful technical discussion, they were offering me Senior analytics - data Science role for 15.5 fixed + 2L jb, considering my current yoe 4.3 and in data science relevant is not much(consider it 1.5+) but my cctc is 14(13fixed+1 variable), I denied to accept this offer. Should I reconsider that?

Businesses have shifted the interview process. Most preliminary interviews are done via video. If you pass several rounds there then you’re invited for an in person interview. It’s less disruptive and time consuming for the team.
As the person searching for the job, I most definitely prefer to converse in person and get a true feeling for the physical place of employment. Too disconnected to not really be there.
if a company does that it’s a red flag. Beware of company posting ghost jobs.
A couple of red flags to consider before applying for a job
- how long has the job been advertised on the market. If it’s more than 2 weeks or a month, dont bother applying.
- no salary mentioned in the job post. or unrealistic salary range for example between 30-120k
- vague JD
- extra work to do during the interview for example - giving assignments to do, record video interview of yourself, answer 40 questions online, download third party app to communicate
- virtual interview that looks shady.
-job posting with these words - “ competitive salary and bonus“ “ commission based salary “ fast paced work environment “ “ we are family” “ must be flexible“ “ must own transportation“ “ willing to relocate“ “ come in for interview tomorrow” “ when they ask for your social security number in the application form”
I have seen so many people complaint about applying to hundreds of jobs but no response from the company, don’t waste your time applying because they weren’t Seriously hiring.
“ we are family” “ fast paced

More than 2 weeks? Almost no professional job is filled in 2 weeks.
The most recent role I hired we posted for 3 months

In person interviews happen after you've passed the initial virtual interview. It's much more convenient for everyone.

The pandemic was a proving ground for efficiency modeling.
It’s more efficient to do virtual initial interviews and in-person as final.
And quite Frankly, if the job is remote or even hybrid, why do an “in person” interview?
What happened to proper grammar and readable paragraphs? At least AI can help solve that problem…
My take is; Remember if you are able to still do good and FIRST, Mentally clarified and hopeful, purposeful, faithful and that is of utmost importance, Always strive to be a solution, you will earn trust and you will be be well. The best engineers, doctors or even janitor doesn’t matter if you are not solution oriented. You will be given a fair shake and opportunity anywhere. The best mangers is looking for someone willing to try, work hard, focus and work to make the better, If you earn your superiors (manager or whomever you report to) trust that’s all it takes. Chin up and always keep positivity, everything it’s a by-product of your success however success starts from within and that’s what makes America the greatest.

I have experienced having to complete many assessments as part of the hiring process. If you are successful it could lead to being considered.
I also think about when I was a child and I had to unplug the house phone too start up the computer and download. It was horrible, but it was something that wasn’t a necessity and it didn’t change the way children played parents interacted with their children as a simple I believe we’re in the area of lonely
Exactly i applied to a huge company took all assesments etc. Having a phone interview today they sent me 3 different times for interview !!Companies need to get it together just because im a applicant dont be disrespectful showing me company has lack of organization before I interview with them.People put alot of time and effort in applying for jobs dont waste there time .
Personally I would rather choose having an in-person interview over a virtual interview any day of the week. I have very limited internet access on my phone which makes it very difficult for me to do a virtual interview sometimes. I always have to find an area that has a free WIFI hotspot in their building. Otherwise it's a no-go. In-person interviews are definitely better for me
