What if you are promoted and now got to know that you are selected in one of the job opportunities you were trying earlier. Its a perfect opportunity to come out of consulting and you have been waiting for a long time to get it..very challenging profile although compensation could be marginally lower. Wouldn't it be ethically wrong to leave the Company just after promotion and payhike. But it's like missing such a huge opportunity!

lol your talk of ethics here is so cute , koochikoo you are !!!

You did answered your question already. You showed your "intention" to stay. It's not mandatory obligation. Think from other perspective if you are in PIP and Deloitte says we will judge your performance and then we will judge our intention to continue our association with you.

like

You have an answer there :) it’s been a long time that you have been waiting for this opportunity then go for it :) it’s very less nowadays that we get an opportunity that we like so go for it my friend:) though deloitte wouldn’t have given hike you would have left deloitte right ? Just try to ask for a bit of hike in a new company:) you will rock for sure . All the best

I remember reading many successful leaders articles which said they followed the principles of choosing the job which they aspire for, even though it was low paid than the current one, Since you had a thirst for the organisation might be a brand like Microsoft, calculate your benefits after 2yrs trying outside from Microsoft which will create brand in your resume, you might be able to get higher package and roles, if this is your scenario, I would say go for it. Whereas if you are moving from Deloitte to organisation which will put your future questionable, I would say not to go for it. There might be something making you to say yes for it, ThinQ if that brings happiness for you choose it

Hi ladies. I need some advice. I'm currently out on maternity leave, to return in about a month. I was just informed my male counterpart in my department will be getting a promotion by our new boss. This is really a slap in the face considering I've been trying to fight for equal pay since last year when I found out another (former) male counterpart of mine was making 40k more than me. What would you do in my situation? Demand to know why I wasn't considered? Leave?

From talking to students at multiple M7 schools, it seems like all of the BB/MBB/FAANG companies recruit at most if not all of the schools . So if you're planning on recruiting for one of these, is there really a major difference in career opportunities between each school? Asking because it seems like some schools are specifically known for finance vs consulting vs tech, but if the companies are all recruiting at all these schools, the differences don't seem as pronounced to me.

Trying to decide between two portfolio ops roles, both in the Bay Area: Small-ish VC firm, ~135k base + 35k bonus Medium PE firm, ~115k base + 115k bonus Which would you choose? I’m leaning towards the PE firm bc it’s more hands-on, faster learning curve, and higher TC, but the VC role seems to have a better WLB and generally sounds cooler (getting exposed to VC vs continuing in the corporate world). What do you think?
