6 YoE in digital marketing, + 2 in business + Master's (not MBA). Not super technical, but I'm a functional subject matter expert (easily top 5% in North America, probably higher) in one DM field. I want to work at MBB and now seems like a really good time to give a try. What level should I aim for? Associate? How much time should I spend practicing cases before applying? Any specific areas to make sure I upskill to check the right box? Any tips on how to make it work?
Is asset management a difficult path post-MBA? Are there any lucrative finance roles outside of IB that are available to T15 MBA grads?
Booz Allen: sorry for the repost but I need to add details. 4 years consulting experience, MBA, doing general management consulting. Need info so I can negotiate my salary increase.
Switch to Big 4 Corp Dev from Big 4 M&A Strat Consulting or continue M&A Strat Consulting path w/ MBA or PE/IB in mind?
Is it worth trying to move now to a firm willing to sponsor an MBA? Currently at a firm that wouldn’t, but know I want to go back to school in a few years and maybe stay in consulting post MBA
Are you supposed to save up for an MBA or do most people finance it with loans? I have loans from UG too.
Thoughts on Carnegie Mellon’s MBA program (Tepper)? Seems very underrated, with a ton of smart kids ...
Early 30s, have an MPH and am thinking about getting an MBA; however i need to work part time and am considering online given the current crisis, but not sure if it’s worth the investment, especially since MBA programs involve networking. Does it really make an impact on your earning potential?
Anyone can share insights on what is the average salary raise and bonus at Grant Thornton and Moody's investors service? Also, what should be the salary expectation range for a 6+ YOE, MBA, CFA ,FRM for New York Location in the financial services industry?
Any advice and choosing a school to do an MBA at? Should I do fulltime, part-time, online? Is it worth getting an MBA from a non ivy? Thoughts on Wharton School of Business
I’m studying for the SHRM-CP with the Mometrix (study guides, online course, and flash cards), however I’m super overwhelmed with all of the information. What are some best practices to ensure I grasp all of the concept ? Any advice would be much appreciated!!!
One of my personal goals this year is to become certified. SHRM seems to be the most popular option, and I'd love to hear your suggestions! Thank you in advance!
Moving to the DC area, but looking into two different types of programs:1.) Georgetown Flex MBA 2.) MPH Johns Hopkins. I’m working a remote commercial position in pharma, but am wondering if any of two programs will help me in securing a role in a tier 2 consulting firm? In the long-term would like to stay in pharma
I’m planning to buy the study materials for the SHRM-CP certificate through Amazon. What are the best ones to obtain?
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
Little bit miserable in my current role and wondering if the grass is greener. I work exclusively on commercial due diligence projects, and want to know if my hours are typical: Monday - Thursday: 9am - ~midnight, Friday: 9-5, weekends totally off. Is this typical or does my group have unusually tough hours?
Today would have been my baby shower. I’m so sad we couldn’t spend this gorgeous day with family and friends but I’m so thankful they took time to call, text, FaceTime and send tons of gifts. ❤️
I was laid off in April when there was just email and phones. Cut to five months later and I’m working again. Yay. But suddenly it’s all Zoom, Slack, Teams, Slides, Sheets. Email is dead. And phones are only for Zoom, Slack, Teams, Slides and Sheets. It feels like I woke up from a coma in a shitty version of the future and everyone else is fine with it. How did anyone adjust to this?
In years you don’t make your bonus, what do your billable hours typically look like? Are you missing it by a hair or is it normal to have some years where you’re only billing 1600? I just finished my first year and trying to figure out what a “normal” slow year looks like compared to a pandemic slow year.
EY Chicago Performance Improvement Program Management is the line I am interviewing with. Currently I make 165K 20% bonus with 50k rsus in finance industry 7 years of experience top 25 MBA heavily involved in strategy and tech portfolio management. Should I be looking at Manager or Senior Manager level?
Anybody working at Designit ? I got an offer from designit, there are less reviews about designit. Would like to know the work culture and other details as it is part of wipro.
Hey friends - I’m currently on a brief medical leave (~1 month) and my management has been contacting me quite regularly by phone and email without notice for different documentation and admin processes relating to the leave. It’s basically taking up as much time as my regular work. Not sure what is reasonable here as I would really like to focus on healing and just deal with it when I’m back…isn’t that the point? What are my rights here?
Partners - Do you ever take vacations? I have been at my current firm for about 1.5 years, and in that entire time the partner in my group hasn't been out of the office a single time. Is that normal? I can't tell if it's standard for big law partners to not take time off, if the dynamics for my group may be different (only 1 partner in the entire group), or it the partner I work with is just a masochist.
Google Technical Solutions Consultant interview process... can I expect a process similar to google Software engineering interviews? Or is it less technical?
Anyone working in health?
What is the federal parental leave policy? I’m new to government and having a baby soon. I know we’re given 12 weeks and have to sign an agreement to work 12 weeks after we return but are there other stipulations to a claw back period or how long we had to be at the agency first?
STAY TUNED: The Inventor and The Science Teacher - united! I am excited about the partnership with Building Momentum. I met with CEO Brad Halsey and his team to brainstorm how to bring my students an exciting hands-on experience. STAY TUNED!!!! Also, check out Brad Halsey on Amazon Prime, Regular Hero’s Episode 7. Anybody did the apics certification in logistics ? I have the choose between the cslp and cscp but not sure which one I should be doing
My boss loves to have every warm body possible in pitch meetings, even people who aren’t working on it. He will slack you out of the blue and expect you to drop everything to just sit there and make the team look “impressive.” Why are people like this? Don’t clients see right through it? Is it actually impressive to have 10+ people in the room if only half of them participate? 😑 it’s such a waste of everyone’s time.
I am a background check away from putting in my notice. KEEP grinding if you’re miserable and/or have trouble getting out of bed in the morning. This took a lot of ghosting and interviews+offer letters being taken off the table due to COVID. Stay humble and you’ll be next. Take a midday walk and schedule some coffee meetings to expand your network and stay sane.
