I joined Tiger Analytics with CTC of 9lpa. When I check in greythr IT statement, it shows 7.14lpa.
In the CTC payslip, it shows 75k per month as my salary. But this month I got 61k.
I understand they deduct tax, but I feel it is too much. IDK where I'm losing the money. Can someone tell if this is normal. I'm a fresher so, IDK much about it.
Also, what can I do to pay less taxes? Any help on that?

To be actually helpful I'd note that if you own your own home or apt you can write off interest (up to a max principal of $750k) for tax deductions. If you work from home certain office supplies or allocations of utilities can be written off as work expenses. If you own your own business you can get even more creative with different expenses being classified as business expenses for deduction in that entity before it passes to your personal liability. Finally, if you are a remote worker you can move to states with low or no income tax, different property tax rates, etc.
You could also theoretically engage a tax advisor but unless you are running a business and want to see how far you can toe the line of legality I personally think they are a waste of money
Thank you VP1! I always get angry when I do my taxes during tax season. Seeing how much goes to our gov.
Yeah it’s kind of messed up.

1) Get married 2) buy a home.
Marriage is actually not always a tax benefit - if both parties are high earners the top two brackets have lower joint thresholds than if you both filed separately... Also if both parties make the same and are low income earners it is neutral. Only low income where one one party works or makes significantly more than the other is it a benefit
