What is the likelihood of Layoffs during an economic downtown for consulting firms? Who typically is affected first?

Sorry for the long rant, but could use advice or just encouragement.

Got laid off for the first time in my career 3 weeks ago. I have 10 years of PM experience (mostly ecommerce & experimentation). I was fortunate in the past to have had recruiters scout me directly so this is the first time in over a decade that I am applying to everything that I’m qualified for, mostly qualified for, and way over qualified for with zero leads. Only 3 interviews thus far that didn’t go forward.

Has anyone seen firing in Deloitte India? Is there any process or employees are fired directly like few companies?

Does anyone have any insight into the Layoffs from a SCNO perspective? (Numbers, duration, etc.)

Is there a risk of accepting a role with Upstart currently? I seen a 7% layoff recently for hourly employees but I would be salaried. I am well aware it’s a risk in tech overall right now but curious on thoughts thanks!

How is it that every company complains they can’t find workers yet 9/10 posts on linked in the last few weeks are all about layoffs? And just taking a look at the jobs in your are…why does every job suck and want to pay you 45k?

A couple months back, I had an offer for a BDR position that I ended up turning down but I really liked and connected with the manager. Is it worth it to reach out? I applied to other positions in the same company. What about reaching out to previous co workers at a different company? Not sure how to navigate this… please help. Does anyone else here have a health condition that doesn’t increase your chances of getting covid compared to other people but if you DO get covid you’re at a high risk of getting severely sick?
