Deal teams or Ops?
Venture Capital. But it’s about a million times harder to be a VC GP than it is to be a consulting partner. Even your average blowhard at Big4 is earning north of $500k, and that’s saying something. The median is much higher than that. And the job entails basically schmoozing and delegation.
C1 - good luck making your numbers with that attitude. When you have the right team at the right time you might be able to get away with "just delegating", but that far from constant in Consulting given how fluid it is. Otherwise, might as well just reduce any non-IC role to "schmoozing and delegating".
OP - if you have to do a career pivot likelihood of successfully pivoting into something out of a hat simply based on how much it pays are low. Your odds are a lot better if you focus on what you are good at, your experiences that translate into opportunities and which of those opportunities provide the biggest long-term potential.
