Hi guys ,
I am in a US project in Accenture. We have long calls in the night timings. My other teammate has backed out saying she won't attend any calls as she got some medical condition so she won't attend long calls which extend till 9:30.Other teammate is a junior. The managers are expecting me to join all the calls. No help I am getting. And they all being Tamil, I think some partiality is going on between them.Even our onsite lead is of no use.She expects me to attend long calls.
What should I do .pls suggest?

Literally anything that is not aligned with middle and upper management mindset outs you in a very negative light.
Anything that paints the company as a whole in a bad light. Even if you have a better way to getting things done. I had an idea once upon a time, let it out, and made the mistake of calling the current process antiquated BS. They didn't like that too much.
I once used the work "ineffective" you describe a decision making process that was apparently carved into stone somewhere, only ever resulted in roadblocks. Learned that lesson the hard way.
I feel like that's 1 benefit to working at a smaller independent agency. All ideas are welcome. We're literally asking employees for ways to improve processes.
"My thoughts on the new process is..." that was a terrible move by me to say that lol. I learned very quickly not to voice my opinion on new processes. Instead, I need to just accept them and move on.
Learned from many years of experience: Unless you’re a partner or someone with an ownership stake in the business, just reinforce and extoll the virtues of whatever your boss or senior management wants to do. Even if it’s dumb. Anything you offer should assist with what they want to do or make it better. Do not criticize what they want to do — the potential downside you risk personally is too great.
Sucks, but that’s the game. Play it.
If you just have to speak up, I find it helps to couch whatever you say in positive, non-critical language. Start what you say with a bit of throwaway reinforcement to show you’re onside, and then phrase your thoughts in a way that sounds constructive and positive. e.g. “This is all really great/thought provoking/exciting stuff/blah blah. What if…(your suggestion here). This way…(how your suggestion might improve on the things they’re discussing.)”
Our head of account management decided to move to set up in which we didn’t have “assigned seating” the AM department was just full of work spaces and lounge areas. There were only 4 monitors for the entire department. I raised my hand in a department meeting saying that not having constant access to a monitor will make my job a lot more difficult since I work heavily in excel documents. She showed empathy to my statement and then carried on with the discussion. From that moment on she hated me…
