Chase Sapphire Preferred (or Reserved)
I’ll second the Reserved. I swear by it especially as we begin traveling again for work all the perks really pay for the card itself.
I like the sapphire reserve. Tons of great benefits currently even aside from the travel perks
I strongly second the motion for Sapphire Reserve :). The annual fee looks steep, but if you study the rewards, you'll notice that it easily pays for itself every year so long as you use the card enough. And "using the card enough" is easy to do, if you use it for various things that your firm reimburses. Also, there is a reward that is unique to the Sapphire Reserve card (as opposed to the other Chase cards): you get a bonus multiplier when you redeem the Sapphire Reserve rewards points for travel bookings through the Chase portal. However, rewards points from any other Chase card can be transferred to your Sapphire Reserve points total (!)... so you can take advantage of points incentives for other Chase card (like special quarterly multiplier categories) and then transfer those points to the Sapphire Reserve card to get the extra multiplier when you redeem the points. Sorry if this is complicated... but this is an amazing "hack" once you get the hang of it.
If you travel a ton on southwest the card is really worth it. Saved me a ton of money when I was in a long distance relationship between Chicago and another town on the southwest route lol
Oh gotcha. Yeah the other cards mentioned are probably better for rewards that aren’t just more flights
I have Amex Platinum. 200 dollar travel credit, 15 dollars a month Uber / Uber eats credit, 20 dollars a month back on streaming and 20 dollars a month back on your phone bill, 100 dollars a year at sak’s. Pays for itself even before lounge access
Oh there’s also a certain number of points as an intro offer and 5x points on travel. I forget the exact amount of points for the intro
