What’s the best approach for studying for the CISA exam? If you already have the certification, how long did it take you to learn the material?

Just do the database questionnaires and read why the answers are right and wrong. You have to think like them. Also, don’t be discouraged about your score as I had plenty of 60-70%. I spent about 30 hours doing tests and still passed well above the cutoff. Good luck!

just do the question database. and then read up on the topics for questions that you answer incorrectly for

ISACA question bank. I had an IT degree and I didn't read the book, just did study questions for like 2 months, 1ish hour a night. I had friends without the IT degree who said parts of the book was helpful but still mostly focused on the questions.

Thanks PwC 1! I’ll definitely check that out

Like what everyone said, if main goal is just to pass, studying the ISACA test bank questions will be enough to pass even without the direct background knowledge of it.

Is there such place as non toxic ID firm? Or does any of ID attys like what they do? I moved from general practice to an ID firm six months ago. Biggest mistake of my life. I am trying hard not to just quit and walk away as I’m battling head cold but still have to bill bill bill and get criticized for not billing right and etc and cases being piled up - while everyone is looking forward to the long weekend. I seriously question my judgement. Need word of wisdom just to get through this hellhole

Does it look bad in my resume to resign after less than a year at a job? writing here the time I’ve spent at each company since graduating college:
- 2 years at company 1 (resigned to move back to home country)
- 2 years at company 2 (resigned and moved back to the US)
- went back to company 1 (it had grown exponentially after 2 years so came back at higher position) (resigned after 1 year to join a startup at director level)

I’ve put myself up for L4 promo this cycle. Assuming I get it, what would be the best next steps to optimize for long-term growth/TC?

My understanding is that L5->L6 is extremely painful at
Google. It may be easier to leave for a handful of years and gain managerial experience before returning.

L4->L5 is less challenging; however, I’m under the impression I can do this quicker at another company (if I leave after being freshly promo’d) AND get higher TC.

TC: 270K

Sharks and other fishes,
I need some career advice,
In my current company I think the development portion I've been given is kinda simple, I've asked my manager and seniors to level up my work and stuff, *which they did* but I kinda caught up.. now what should I do, should I ask them to level up again or look for better opportunities
Also, I had some Interest in CyberSecurity and I grinded it on my pre-final semester at Uni, should I try on that path as well or should I stick to development?

Currently an associate at a mid-sized firm with “strong potential” to make partner at the end of this year. Things have been toxic for a while, but have cratered in 2021, with few signs there will be any positive changes on the horizon. What are the pros and cons of staying to make partner before trying to go in-house? I’d assumed it would be better to job search with that title on the resume, but am rethinking my assumptions the worse things get.
