What’s the biggest red flag phrase you’ve encountered during a interview process? I just had an interview where the manager asked me how I handle a dynamic environment which I now realize is code for ‘we are chronically short-staffed and chaotic’. I’m trying to decide if I should take the job for the experience or run far away from a place that uses corporate buzzwords to cover up systemic failure.

I accepted an offer from another consulting firm and my H1B visa has also been transferred. I have not joined the new role yet. However I had been interviewing with another firm and expecting an offer I know this is not the best practice but is it allowed to accept another offer even though H1 transfer has been approved through another employer? If I accept the second offer does this raise any red flags with USCIS as they potentially see 2 almost consecutive visa transfer requests?

There is an opportunity that I’m currently interviewing for that is very interesting to me. I’m interviewing two other places but I’m not responding to LinkedIn emails for other positions. The other positions don’t interest me as much. On one hand I don’t want to waste time prepping for all positions and rather put that time only for the ones that I have going on, on the other hand I feel like what is that falls through. Has anyone ever asked to renegotiate their salary after starting a job? I’m 2 months into my new job and I have far more responsibilities than what I was told. It’s a lot different than what was relayed in the posting and during the interviews. Additionally, they hired my counter part in as a senior manager which is at least $30k more than what I make. My peer has more experience so I expect that but I feel that I should be paid more, however I don’t want to leave a bad impression… any advice?

HR opinion: Do I have any leverage as a hospital nurse case manager in negotiating earned time? How would you handle not getting a lunch break when you are a salaried employee treating patients for 40 hours a week?
