Consulting bowl when all Deloitters move to MBB.

PwC 🐠, I interviewed with the firm about 6 months ago for a Senior Associate position on the forensics team. I wasn’t extended an offer because the position was given to an internal transfer, at least what I was told. I tried reaching out to the recruiter I worked with last time but the email bounced back and wouldn’t be delivered. I was hoping to see / reapply if the group still was looking for seniors.
In your opinion, would it be best to reapply as a cold application?

Working on a deal vs. working on a company that has been bought (although ops team may be brought in before transaction is done). Different work and different comp structures. 'Better than consulting' is subjective although comp is likely to be better, hours/stress likely to be worse, and exit opps likely to be better. Using a larger PE fund + transaction role as basis for comparison.
^B1 has got it. And be prepared to work with Bain in either role. Have spent most of my time here working on due diligences with PE clients or portfolio companies post-acq!
Thank you for the info. I am interviewing with a PE firm and the role looks to be split with half M&A and due diligence on the deal and half ops. Firm isn't a huge name and focuses on middle market yet has received some notable coverage due to a recent large deal. I'm just over 1 year out of college/at EY went to a non target school. If I get the job, is this an obvious yes to take? There are some personal issues that would take a hit but I don't want to pass on a huge career opportunity. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
100% obvious yes
Is it common to go from an implementation practice to an OPS role at a PE shop? Or even a due diligence style role at Bain? Really interested but if it's impossible, don't want to try to ice skate uphill.
Congrats OP
EY how did you line this up? Networking?
@EY1, on the Bain question nope - although some people spend a lot of time in private equity (Ive done 1.5 years out of 3), it's not a specific role that we hire for. So you'd have to get hired into a general consultant role at Bain and then run the gauntlet of staffing to get into that space.
