I have liked them so far. I like being able to control what part of the exhibit the witness sees and pointing to the relevant passage rather than having the witness shuffle through it. Plus no travel.
Love em.
I'll suffer through them if necessary, but much prefer in person. Easier to get a read on the witness, better Q&A flow, and no issues with the deponent's lack of tech savvy.
Pro
It depends on how important the deposition is. Important ones I’d much prefer to do in person when I was in private practice, but for non-important ones, it was just easier not to have to travel.
I LOATHED them at first but now love them, can’t imagine going back. It’s SOOO much more efficient and the lead time for prep is so much shorter without having to travel, print exhibits, etc.
