If you don't have general rules, I recommend you do them, because if you do it manually and then for some reason another user does the same and you forget, they will see you as a dictator.
Lately, communities get offended very quickly, so it is best to make a regulation that shows reasons and conditions for people to do things the right way, if someone does not know why they do not read the regulation, you are there to remember it.
You can easily delete it but you must write a formal apology to that person, because in the communities not everyone is willing to comment, and if they do and you delete the comment without giving them a direct reason, they will be offended and possibly leave your community.
You can try to give the person a period of time to delete it himself, the period of time goes hand in hand with how active your community or your group can be, so wait, I don't know if 1 day or 2 depends on the community and you delete it
It is always difficult to go against what a person says in a group because they always feel attacked/offended and they can start to be negative in the group just because of a small call for attention, my advice is to make a regulation, show it, talk to the people person and give him some time.
Delete it and apologize in a direct message to the person on behalf of the entire group, that feels important, at the same time invite him to read the group rules.
