USI Insurance brokerage and consulting - thoughts? A recruiter reached out to me via linked in and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on this company. They seem to have decent reviews on Glassdoor but I was hoping to get more insight into workload and comp. Thanks in advance! USI

usually thru end of the month
Usually the end of the month, and then you have 90 days to opt in to cobra. So you don’t need to pay for cobra unless something happens in those 90 days... it’s a great way to cover the gap without spending money
So if my last day is on say the 2nd, I get it through the end?
In almost all cases end of month. If you are at a small agency, it may be different
If you work at an ipg company it’s end at midnight your last day. Or at least that’s what I have experienced.
Depends.
IPG ends on your last day
It depends. I've experienced both.
Is there any way of low key figuring this out before I bolt?
Typically people get all check ups, etc. done before leaving. Believe there will be a delay before healthcare kicks in again at new gig.
Typically the end of the month if it’s after the 15th but HR is obligated to tell you this, so make sure to follow up and ask. Like the old cliche, if you don’t ask, you don’t know.
OP, you can talk to HR. They can tell you when your health insurance runs out.
Through the end of the month usually but if not, try to negotiate. I was uninsured for literally two weeks last year and that’s of course when I incurred $18k in medical bills.
Check with your HR, it depends on the policy of the holding company.
Also, check the Obamacare marketplace before signing up on Cobra. Healthcare for me and my kid was way cheaper through the government.
Your HR can be nice and let it go through the end of the month. I’ve had that happen. She’s the one who suggested.
OP talk to any friends who have left before if you’re trying to time your resignation based on that and don’t want to go to hr yet
I worked at a huge corporation and it ended on my last day. You'll have to ask your HR.
^or someone else you know who has left
It depends on the agency. Most health insurance either ends at the end of the month or halfway through the month, i.e. the 15th.
