When you have an associate manager accompanying an executive conversation with a with a senior manager do you normally jump in and have a conversation or let the SM do the talking. I was just a meeting with an executive and don’t have much to add. Not sure if I should be more proactive in conversations. How do I be more active in executive conversations without sitting there quiet?

Building out a new function at my company, top 15 bank in the US, and scheduled a 90 minute meeting last week for today. Invite included an agenda and a teams link to the document we would be reviewing. Also asked for attendees to review ahead. 20 minutes in, my co-worker exclaims while I’m mi-sentence we should meet Thurs. after having a chance to review content… WHAT?! What should I have done in that situation?

Any thoughts on how do we deal with an incompetent boss who you dont look up to and have no trust that you would ever get credit for the work you would do for him/her? Given that changing the boss is not an option.

Completely and totally miserable at my firm and just need a space to vent because my friends are tired of hearing about it. I wish the worst part about it was the amount of work, rather than the completely toxic culture, lack of appreciation, arbitrary and back/breaking deadlines, lack of mentorship/feedback/training, and the fact that the associates act like they don’t even know each other. What can a junior associate do about a mid-level that constantly asks questions about things they were cc’d on, sends dozens of piecemeal emails and is generally just super high strung and needs everything right away?? No other mid-levels I’ve worked with act this way and this individual I’m working with is driving me insane and I’ve spent countless hours attaching emails and saying “as explained in the attached email…”

I'm a cashier. We just got a new manager, and she's making things really hard for us. She starts work at 4:30am and leaves around 2:30pm, but she still expects us to stay until 6pm and work on the weekends! She gives us really long shifts and doesn't give us much time for breaks. Hello - I transferred offices this year between two states. I changed my address in workday in mid June and my work location was updated to my new state in August 1. I was withheld by both states for 3 pay periods (the six weeks) in between those days. So now my W-2 shows two state taxable wages that (when added) is higher than my total wages. How do I treat this when filing my state tax return? Do I just go by the date of my move and then manually lower one of the state reported wages?
