I have MI BOLC in January, which lasts for 4 months. I’m currently in the final phase of receiving my verbal offer from either Booz Allen Hamilton or Deloitte. Would they reconsider hiring me if they knew I would be away for that long? Should I be upfront and tell them I’ll be away? I don’t want to lose an opportunity that I worked hard for. Please help.

Hot take: If you're trying to leave consulting, it's actually to better on the same client / industry / project for an extended period (1+ year). While you have to constantly and proactively reinventing yourself so you aren't working a dead end role, the sustained time will allow to build deeper skills and open doors for exits beyond the typical strategy / PM roles most consultants target.

I had an interview with the recruiter and the same day she followed up to set up time for me to speak with the hiring manager. I spoke to the hiring manager two days later and it went really well. After my call with the hiring manager the recruiter said she would be in touch with me soon about next steps. After a week I checked in and nothing. Should I checkin again or assume I am being ghosted? I assumed I would of at least gotten a rejection since they ensured me that is what they do.

As part of interview process, Amazon had requested me to provide my salary expectations. Based on which, I have been told that they will not be able to provide my expectation and is offering my current base as the total compensation for the role.
Should I consider interviewing for the role or should I decline given the recruiter has been upfront that the maximum for the role is lower than my current pay.
Will declining the interview set a bad taste for the recruitment team?

So. I’m working with total dream clients and projects at the moment. I’m talking too-good-to-be-true, set for life with my future resume type of projects. Problem is, the person that is hiring me for them is a micromanager workaholic, and expects me to work 24/7 on constant tight deadlines. I’m pretty miserable and every project feels like pulling teeth to finish. How long is too long to stick it out? Push through for a year to build my portfolio and career or call it quits for my mental health?
