I was in BigLaw for 9 years and left because I hit my savings target. FIRE kept me motivated. I’m now primarily supporting my wife’s career (BigLaw counsel) as her job has unparalleled flexibility and she legit enjoys it, so we’ll use that to get the rest of the way to full financial independence. For myself, I’m currently focused on writing, wildlife photography, and fitness goals. Its unlikely that I will return to the legal field in the future. I’ve written more about it here if interested: https://www.attorneyevolved.com/post/biglaw-early-retirement

My final round with Deloitte for UK Tech Consulting Manager position soon. Strangely it’s not a PMD round as it usually is for other Big4/tech consulting firms.
1. Can anyone tell me if they’ve been through the whole process without speaking to PMD? (First round Sr Manager, second Case Interview by a manager and third again by a manager) 2. What is a typical salary to expect? I was asked in screening but kept it vague (e.g can discuss later bla bla). I was hoping 75-80 (ridiculous?)

JP contributes 6% and then matches another 6%
Effectively you get 18% by sacrificing 6%
Hello, can you explain how this 18% comes about please? New to pensions, don't know how it works. Thanks!
NBS pays 16% in if you pay 7% (23% total).
But salaries are probably 30% lower than JP.
ACN is age based in in the 2nd best tier (I'm 47). I contribute 5% they do 12%. In 3 years it will be I contribute 6% they do 14%
Civil service pensions are best. Can go upto 30 percent
Yes but salaries are much lower though aren’t they.
I can’t imagine civil service pension can beat contributing 40k a year for 1-2 decades + growth even after breaching LTA etc
Haven’t done the calls though
