I've worked at 3 big 4 and PwC had the best audit everything imo. Methodology, software, etc
I'm trying to catch em all
Using our old system I wouldn’t say Deloitte but now with Omnia I would say Deloitte with how clearly linked and prescriptive everything is
I agree with this. So far I’ve been very impressed with Omnia.
GAM is why I'm now at KPMG
PwC has Aura and Connect…Clear sampling methodology and documentation and templates…except EGA file linking is redundant and also a new confirmation process which seems promising….they used to have Lotus Notes and still use Google Docs and Google Chat (not kidding) but recently switched to Outlook and Microsoft Teams…EY has Canvas and Connect equivalent and generally overkill with everything…way too much documentation and 75 page word Document enablers and now new Smart Docs that may prove useful in subsequent years….10 day archiving with absolute pencils down on the day of sign off…also proprietary software for # of sample selections and Random Number Generators are clear and easy to populate..also used Teams…DT used to have GAM which was not user friendly but to compensate really easy to follow Databases but I hear it has improved. PS when you have the opportunity to be involved with Peer-Practice reviews you can check all this out
This is the nerdiest thread and I am here for it
Agreed on PwC
Appreciate the comment.
P Dubs my guy
A lot of PWC Partners are moving to BDO. So I'd say BDO in the next 5 years. 😂
Depends what you would consider as “best”. PwC’s methodology focuses most on detail testing, but their lack of focus on analytics causes them to not focus often on things that actually matter to management / audit committees. Deloitte on the other hand focuses too much on analytics and isn’t designed to deal with fast growth companies.
Ex EY and Deloitte currently audit manager at PwC. Deloitte has the best methodology and guidance.
I’m curious what makes it better. I’ve only worked at PwC so I don’t have much context but ours seems pretty solid.
DT and PWC in the lead right now. Thanks for the responses y’all.
I worked at PwC before going into industry and since then had to field requests from EY and Deloitte. I'm so used to the PwC audit guide being tied to auditing standards, I was equally speechless when I got a deer in headlights look the first time I asked the audit manager to cite AS5 for their over zealous request.
