I have been reading a few articles talking about how FAANG isn’t as lavish as it used to be. My first question is if that is true? If it is true, my second question is what companies out there have the pay, benefits, and perks like FAANG? My last question is if it is as difficult to get into those companies? Is 95k salary low for a 35 year old (DC area)?
Negotiating with EY for M/SM Tech Consulting. I have 15 years experience, skills are in demand and my interviews went extremely well. 1. What are the salary ranges for M and SM in NYC. 2. I am told it is only going to be a M now, for my own benefit-no EY network means failure at selling. Whats the highest salary I can negotiate at M. Any other tips will be handy. I have "sold" (support on sales & new roles through relationships) plus I have solid delivery experience. I really want SM 😀😀😀 EY

It depends..
Literally every variable.
Some “analysts” make millions, some make minimum wage. Depends on industry, function, size, equity incentives, COL, etc.. literally everything. Job titles don’t mean anything
I think job titles are heavily driven by which firm you’re at. People at different firms may be doing the same on a daily basis, but job titles may be different (eg business analyst vs consultant).
If the titles are withun the same firm, I imagine the analyst may be more analytics focused, while a consultant may be more insights focused - but let’s be honest, a very junior “consultant” is doing a lot of analysis!
Ok this makes sense! Thanks for that explanation.
It’s like asking who makes more money, Project Manager or Manager!!
Depends on network , whom you know etc etc …
Business analysts and consultants overlap in many of their duties, but differ primarily in one area. While analysts and consultants review business operations for their strengths and weaknesses, consultants are more likely to make and then help implement recommended changes.

Not always true lol
There’s never a hard and fast rule with this kind of stuff.
Depends on how good they can negotiate. I’m an S2 in assurance and make the same or more than managers (150k)
Ok makes sense!

There’s literally no consistency between companies with regards to titles. If you narrow down the scope you’ll get better responses. Are you talking about KPMG specifically?
