What do you change into to go to Starbucks?
I even saw a male nurse recently who was walking his dog through the neighborhood wearing his usual hospital outfit...
Just a culture shock as it’s something you would not expect to see in Europe.
Why dont you change before you go home OP? It's not like they dont wash their clothes
OP appears to be the dumbass who confuses scrubs with OT overalls. Unless a medical professional has been in active contact with contagions, scrubs are like any other hygienic uniform, maybe even more since hospitals are highly sanitized environments
@M1, your street/casual clothes and not your work clothing? Don’t you think they are spreading germs around? Plus I wouldn’t want my nurse to wear the same clothes in the dirty subway before coming to work in the hospital. There should be some (social) limits.
I get what you are saying OP. During certain rotations my SO would make me sick or would cause me to break out in allergic reactions. We found if he took scrubs off immediately instead of lounging around I wouldn’t have reactions anymore. Fun fact: a lot of hospitals don’t allow docs to wear ties anymore because it can cause infections to other patients by harboring bacteria/germs in the material.
I had a friend whose roommate was a nurse. She kept getting sick. Couldn’t figure it out until she saw her roommate come home from work without changing. Yuck! Apparently she’d cook in her scrubs post work.
Same opinion as OP, it should not take too much to change out of the scrubs.
Scrubs are very stylish and fashionable
Instead of using decks to get new business and customers, they are using clothes dripping with disease. Hey, they have metrics too. - Mr. Sarcasm 😝
Even right now, I am surrounded at Starbucks by high schoolers who have been attending their practice/work program in the local hospital. I guess it’s too inconvenient to change back to their school clothes before coming here. I really hope they will do laundry before the next day at the hospital.
