Any FAANG companies here? 👀
How much would my tech stack and language be a factor in getting selected in faang or good product based companies?
I'm asking from getting my resume selected to getting an offer.
I read everywhere that only DSA and system design is needed, but I'm still concious about my tech stack.

Introducing...
FAANTAM
Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Tesla, Alphabet, Microsoft
Pronounced like Phantom.

I think you mean MANFAAT
“FAGMAN” probably isn’t a good one either
Ahh I shouldn’t laugh but I did
Netflix is literally the most coveted place to work in the whole of FAANG.
It has better roles, far better pay and good WLB. Also tougher to get into than other companies in the list.
Also Microsoft has just become hip, after Satya Nadella took over. Before that it was a big archaic place like IBM.
N1 - you may call IBM archaic, still produces more value than Netflix.
FAANG (originally just FANG I think) was a term coined by Jim Cramer back in 2013 that pointed to blue chip tech stocks at the time. Microsoft turned the corner around 2014, so wasn’t a blue chip back then.

Msft got a new lease of life. Before that it was a hot mess.
FAANG is dumb. Doesn’t reflect the top tier of tech companies at all. I can’t understand why people are so attached to the acronym.
Which companies would you put in the top tier for tech?
Netflix is nowhere close to the others in terms of market cap. I guess that was where I was coming from on this.
Apple: >$2 trillion
Microsoft, Amazon, & Google: >$1 trillion
Facebook: $860 billion
Netflix: $244 billion
Market cap no
But Technologists know how bleeding edge and innovative Netflix is with what they have developed internally. If you don't know your amazing the technology that Netflix has invented is, do yourself a favor and go read about it.
That's why so many people want to work there
Also, their base salaries are the top compared to others

If Microsoft joined FAANG, it would automatically become a restricted stock. Part of EY plot to keep us poor.
Netflix was included thanks to stock performance I guess (best performing stock from 2010-2019). Also it’s just a catchy acronym, there are other great tech companies out there
MAGA FN. Sounds like a MAGA fan
It’s now FAGMAN
Facebook, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Apple, Netflix.
Rising Star
It's a silent M right before the N as in FAAMNG.
According to the internet, Netflix uses AWS for all its computing, storage, video transcribing, etc. It’s more of a creative company at this point

It’s a stupid term made up by an equally stupid person Jim Cramer
You're just jealous because he loves us.
When the term was coined, Microsoft wasnt doing well. Check our stock- we have added a trillion dollars of market cap over the past 5-6 years.
