Wife and I are new homeowners. How common are cockroaches here? I’ve had Orkin spray twice but we still find them in and around the kitchen sink. Orkin doesn’t think we have an infestation though.

Big roaches = took a wrong turn and it’s been raining so extra likely. Little roaches = time to upgrade to ABC or another provider and get rid of quickly - at least Austin is better than Houston on the roach front.

In general we plug up our drains overnight. That's how they get in typically. We have always had pest control but had a few every once in a while. Started doing that a few years back and haven't seen any since.

like

This is the way

I get the odd one from time to time...

* Make sure you've no standing water
* Don't leave loads of cardboard and papers around
* Don't leave any food out, including overnight or inside your oven
* Make sure guest bathrooms are used regularly so that all the pipes are being flushed

Having ABC come every other month is well worth the cost

I second upgrading your pest control. We've had a good experience with Aries

First and foremost, they're common. Get used to them because no exterminator can eliminate them. Saying you don't have an infestation doesn't contradict having some. You have some.

Make sure openings around drain pipes in walls are filled in. I've seen many houses where you can see daylight around pipes if you look.

Have any American Producers ever successfully been able to freelance abroad (London or Amsterdam)? Any advice?

So, I just fired my first employee as a manager and I'm heartbroken. He was a great, great person but after 6 months on a PIP he just wasn't cutting it skills-wise. I know he was the provider of the household and his wife didn't have a job since she was raising three young ones. Needless to say, I had to take off because I felt terrible, sick to my stomach. How do you deal with firing guilt? Is that a thing? I can't help but feeling like I did something wrong.

I've never worn a tie to work, but when I've worn clothing that had a more "masculine" fit either in grad school or some work environments, I've gotten comments and looks, or sometimes asked (or people gossiped) about my orientation. When I wear more "feminine"-looking clothing, I feel more more uncomfortable and awkward. 🤷🏼‍♀️
