This post is a perfect example of how far people of color and women have yet to go in this industry. As soon as we start to move into a white, male-dominated court they feel threatened and feel the need to vent about it anonymously on an app. How about you embrace the leveling out of a long uneven playing field and see how diversity can make our ideas and agencies stronger?
@supervisor1 Racism and sexism include an element of power that is fundamental to these terms. A dominant group in a position of power -- here, white men -- can be discriminated against or experience prejudice, but it's neither racism nor sexism. Next time you weigh in on a complex issue with a snarky response, consider digging deeper than dictionary.com.

@Director1, the advancement of POC does not equal "leaving white men behind." This is literally the workplace version of Black Lives Matter. White 👏🏻 men 👏🏻 literally 👏🏻 have 👏🏻 every 👏🏻 single 👏🏻 privilege 👏🏻 in 👏🏻 life 👏🏻. This whole thread is so embarrassing.

Ok PM1, quick basic logic check. If HR goes up to a white dude and says, "Hey, we're firing you because you're white and a dude so we can make room for someone not white and not dude," was the company being racist and or sexist or nah?

You can't just extrapolate the definition of a word with your political opinion. Racism is defined as a type of prejudice based off ones race, which everyone is subject to. I agree that there is a "dominant group" system that can benefit white men more often than other groups, but to flat out say that one group is immune to something, while another is always prone to it gets into generalization, which only exacerbates the issue

My last agency, women outnumbered men 3:1. The management team was more than half women.
The more striking statistic was that the vast majority of women at SVP and above didn't have kids. (But that's a topic for another post)
OP, the pool of us POC isn't big enough to meet the demand for hires or promotions. Diversity programs are a step forward, but we need more non-white folks to choose to go into this industry first. Working on it.
