Hi Fishes
I would like to know about the client interviews (especially in data science or machine learning roles).
Are these interviews tough?
Are these interviews meant to assess technical knowledge? For example, what is binomial distribution, what are different data structures in python, ml algorithms etc.
I would request each of the nagarrians to share their thoughts irrespective of the technologies you are working.
I am thankful to you for taking time and helping me out.

I would say go for it, though you’re likely to lose to a citizen unless you’re a creative with a killer book. There are cultural nuances that need to be taken into consideration when working with clients and conveying their messaging so someone who understands and lives in that culture might be better suited for the job. Another note… expect to take a pay cut compared to American salaries
It’s always better to be in the country you’re applying to. That being said, there’s no reason not to apply when the right opportunity pops up.
Pro Tip: Switch your location on LinkedIn to the UK and remove your address from your resume and apply. If they’re interested, they’ll send an email or call to find out your location or move timeline.
One more thing, (assuming you’re coming from the US) there’s lots of agencies in the UK with US clients/offices. Maybe target these as an American. They may be looking for someone who understands the US market and those clients.
hi! I worked at an agency in the UK. Sponsorship was difficult as other people have put it, and salaries are considerably lower. I did it more for the experience/wanting to stay in the UK, but it's a commitment because your visa is for 3 years unless you switch to another employer who is willing to take oversponsorship. The big agencies said no to me, but the smaller agencies were willing - and it'll become more rampant due to Brexit and the visa restrictions for the EU. This would be a good time to go for it, but get ready to sell yourself
Thanks a lot!! I have been under the impression that the big agencies might rather be the ones open to visa sponsorship. Lol.
Do you reside in the Uk or you applied for work there from another country?
