I applied for a brand side role as an Associate Director. The responsibilities in the job description seem fairly senior and the listed salary band is 112-222k based on seniority. As I have over 12 years experience, I would expect to get on the higher end. However, the recruiter told me the budget for the role was 130k, which seems absurd. Has anyone seen such a huge discrepancy in posted salary band and the actual number stated by the recruiter? What is the best way to address the discrepancy?

I've been wanting to get a dog, but I'm afraid I might not be able to financially support it with a Junior salary. What salary range should I wait to hit?

Would you charge a higher day rate for Big Tobacco? I somewhat still smoke, and I know that the effects of advertising somewhat played a macro influence on my decision to pickup. But in the end, I picked up because I was a "good boy" high-schooler who moved to college, threw up middle fingers to conservative upbringing, and tried to emulate the folks who looked cooler than me. I’ve been agency side as a Paid Media buyer/planner for about 4 years. I’m currently at a big network agency, a role I was expected to promoted in but a big freeze on promotions and pay-rises has been announced. An in-house opportunity at an interesting business has come up for more money, possibly better balance. Am I missing out on development by going in-house? Would love to know anyones thoughts in the current environment of taking what I feel is a big risk. Salary about 60% higher.
