Talked to a place today running a temporary to potential hire program. Agency is better than any I’ve worked at. Salary is a paltry 18/hr. I would probably have to move home and work West Coast hours on East Coast time. Is this even remotely worth it?
Just witnessed a company take down the job listing for a ‘Senior Social Strategist’ role and re-upload the same exact job description, tacking on a few additional job requirements, under the title ‘Social Media Manager’. Sounds they are trying to hire for a Senior level role but pay a mid-level salary lol
Applied to a copywriter job and discussed salary with the recruiter - 90/95K would work on their end. Just spoke with the hiring manager, who mentioned this being a “senior copywriter” role. If that’s actually the case, should I try to negotiate more $$ if I get an offer? And why would the job posting not say senior if it is?
If you find out a place was willing to offer you more than you originally asked and you’re still in the interview process - is it a bad look to change your answer further in the process?
-What’s your salary range?
- great we’re looking at 100k so that’s perfect.
What’s your agencies time off policies? Are they paid? Share, please! Second biggest question next to salary ranges imo
Anyone care to share (first hand) the salary for an ACD (art) on a large account at a mid-to-large size ad agency in Chicago? Appreciate!
My agency said they’re doing annual reviews at the end of the year, but I’d I get an offer from a different agency before that, how do I leverage that offer for a higher salary?? Help I’m sweating!
Anyone know the official 4As salary guide for a CD in a mid size city (think Austin, Portland, Denver) and being a smaller shop? Hoping for the official range for negotiation purposes.
Two different recruiters reached out to me within the span of hours about the same role. I had already responded to one with a salary range, but upon the 2nd recruiter reaching out I learned the range I gave was lower than they’re willing to pay. The first one didn’t say anything about “no one else can represent you” but I wonder how I should approach correcting my salary range to the first recruiter?
When should I expect to transition to a senior art director and then a creative director. How should I level set salary goals with my manager within the next year if I project to stay at the same agency?
i’d love to see equity compensation make it into advertising. working long hours would feel a lot more manageable if it felt like you were working for your own benefit too.
What is the going day rate for a ACD level freelance writer in NYC? I just asked for 1300 and nearly gave the recruiter a heart attack. They claimed it was well out of ACD territory…
What is the average salary for a Senior Producer in NYC? I currently work for small agency/production company in London and we taking a leap to begin an NYC outfit - it will sit alongside the other agencies in our small network. I’m aware that NYC salaries are proportionally much larger than the UK, and therefore want a figure that will both be fair and appropriate to me, but also realistic to the UK commercials. Curious to know what the hive mind here thinks is a suitable asking price?
Have you ever taken a downgrade in title to get better experience?
I almost wonder if I jumped to Senior too quick and now when I apply to other agencies and don’t hear back, I wonder if I don’t have the experience to justify the title.
As long as I’m not losing money salary-wise, does it make sense to apply for AD roles to get more experience somewhere else?
🤯 Advertising True Stories - I’ve found that some people have stories in advertising that are almost too hard to believe. What’s your story? I’ll start…
A developer gets called into the ad agency’s owners office. What started with a termination talk turned into the developer stating why things weren’t going well with so much confidence. The owner changes his tune and asks the developer to stay on, and the developer negotiated a higher salary than he originally had. 🤯
If one gets promoted to an officer (VP) within IPG/UM, does this promotion come with a salary increase and/or incentives? What are the pro's of becoming an officer?
Was interviewing at 3 agencies, and was starting to get a feel for THE one…Today I got an offer from that agency (and got rejected from the other two) Feels like a SIGN !!!!! I am seriously stoked though—great team, great client and a dope partner who I really vibed with. On top of that was able to get what I wanted salary-wise. My first job !!!!!! To all the Jrs out there looking —you got this. The right job really will take time but so worth it
Hello, could you please share salary range for Programmatic Manager job position at Xaxis Canada?
Thoughts on leaving an agency to do fundraising paid social campaigns for a major nonprofit. I’m currently a paid media director at a small agency with good seniority and good salary. I’m thinking of joining a very large, very well known international nonprofit and run their fundraising campaigns on paid social. Anyone working in fundraising/advocacy advertising? Is it high pressure? Anyone do advertising for nonprofits? Salary is lower but job security is much higher.
Would you move from a big agency to a smaller agency if the money was nearly twice your existing salary?
Hi everyone I’m going to start interviewing for senior associate programmatic roles and wanted to know how much I should be asking for in terms of salary? What is a good amount?

I am looking for a job in the events field. Any suggestions on types of jobs to try? I also an interviewing for a event production manager for 42,000/yr. Is that a fair salary or should I ask for more?
Working with clients who know nothing about advertising is so frustrating. They literally can't tell the difference between a PDF, working file, comp, image, etc. One of my clients just sent a PDF as a final file to a publisher instead of the final image. 😅
Can anyone tell me what an experienced media researcher salary is for a Director or VP level? Even a range would be helpful!
Hey everyone, I’m trying to change my career path to advertising/marketing/events coordinating or anything similar to those jobs. Because I have to pay for my rent and a lot of other things it comes that I have to ask for $85k salary for an entry level job (my previous background is Television industry) Do you have any tips I could use? Unfortunately it looks like those type of salaries is something more like mid-senior level jobs range
Hi! I’m looking to collect some salary data for other Director/VP level folks within the PM or Operations field. I am a Director PM with ~10yrs experience & have been with my company for 4 years. For the past year in this role, I have been responsible for running 12-14 accounts simultaneously, ~$60M in revenue, ~185 employees, and my current salary is $150k. I am well aware that a handful of my peers make $160k+ but curious as to what others in the industry feel is fair.
When ur head of department resigns and ur asked (as the most senior member of said department) to take on his responsibilities + sow without being promoted to said position / getting a fair increment in salary. This ain’t charity work guys 🤣
How much does one need to realistically make a jump? Have an offer for $11.5K more base plus 10k in a bonus so overall 21.5K bump. (~20% raise). Feel like it’s not enough
Received three separate LinkedIn InMails - each from a different recruiter - probing whether I’d be interested in an ACD role, paying less than a quarter my current day rate. My profile clearly states I’ve been an ECD for ten years.
I lost my shit in my reply.
Recruiters: There are TONS of insanely talented creatives trying to land ACD roles who deserve their shot! Quit being so fucking lackadaisical and help them! I’d hire them if I could, but I can’t.
RECRUITERS, DO YOUR JOB PROPERLY!
I’m in talks with management about being a candidate for a new position, Project Manager. This would be a promotion for me; however, a member of my team indicated the company may not want to increase compensation for this role even though I would have more responsibilities. It was even stated that “They may even want to fire people who asked for more money.” I am staggered. Do you advice for me? Should I look elsewhere? Any referrals? Any insight/assistance appreciated.
What's salary like for an AMD and Director in San Francisco under agency versus in-house working with annual budget in the millions?

My wife is giving birth in a few months to our first child. Should I take the full 16 weeks? Four months seems like an extremely long time. What about utilization and bonus? Getting replaced in projects and initiatives?
Any thoughts on expected compensation in the industrial-military complex at a mid-senior level? Has anyone taken part in sperm sorting at their clinics to give a better chance of choosing X or Y sperm in IVF? My clinic has a study where it can skew girl 60/40% but the working hypothesis is that the abnormal Y sperm will fall down with the heavier X sperm, so there might also be a higher chance of aneuploidy. Wanting other people’s results on this. If not, on IVF genders in general - are you getting more boy or girl normal embryos?
Does anyone know where I can find a reasonably priced career coach? I need help with getting to the next step in my career but can’t seem to do it by myself at this point.
Does Atos provide wfh/hybrid facility.
I’m kind of impressed by Vayner’s ascent. Two years ago they were a laughing stock, now they’re winning D&AD and One Show pencils.

Making a career change to being a senior data analyst. Coming from a retail accounting background with self-taught and mentored SQL, Power Bi, and Tableau. Was wondering on advice on what to ask for $ or benefits. 4 YOE in accounting. 1 YOE in SQL/PB/Tableau. 2 main companies I’m looking at are Cox and EY and would like any insight into their work culture for a data analyst.
