How would I go about negotiating the salary on an offer as an Analyst from a small company that does Diversity & Inclusion Consulting. I’m currently a tech consultant at Tier 2 firm and wanted to make the pivot as D&I is something I’m more passionate about. The company set me at the Analyst level instead of Consultant because my primary function wasn’t D&I/human capital - this was a requirement for the leadership. While I can’t negotiate level, is it okay to push and negotiate salary?

My significant other just got promoted after working 1 year as a business analyst at a local firm and his salary is now way over mine. I’m an audit senior with 2 years experience. Now he logs off at 5:30 to go to gym while I’m working long hours and struggling every day. Did he read the offer letter wrong or is that where Deloitte's starting comp is at?
