McKinsey friends- what are the salary expectations for an experienced Business Analyst at McKinsey? I am a senior analyst at Accenture and have an interview coming up. Will I get paid more than a first year analyst out of undergrad, please and thank you!

SO is at the offer stage for a fintech. It’s a compliance analyst level role and a lateral move. The trouble is that the offer came in at the same point as her current salary at a bank. The recruiter made it sound like we don’t negotiate with candidates and it’s an exploding offer. After considering the usual tech perks like discounted ESPP, the offer improves marginally. Unsure if it is the recruiter playing hardball or if they truly don’t negotiate for compliance analyst roles. Any advice?

Both roles seem to be a good fit but the BVS role would be a paycut (~23% of my current salary) and title downgrade while the Success role would be a big pay increase (~30%). From my understanding, the BVS organization is a much more well-regarded group in SFDC.

Received an offer for 85k, but it would require me moving cities. The salary bump is 30% from my current job, but they are not paying for relocation. Do y’all think I would be successful if I try to negotiate a salary of 90-95k? Opportunity is in financial services as a Senior Internal Controls Analyst.

Hi all, I am needing some help with a salary negotiation. I am trying to relocate to Pittsburgh area. I have 3.5 years of experiences now and getting offered between 80k-85k for base salary for a senior accountant or reporting analyst position. Does this sound about right? I get paid more right now (maybe becasue I am in Oil and Gad industry) but want to see what the market average look like in Pittsburgh.

I'm currently a recruiter, with an HR background looking to make a slight career pivot. As an introvert, the recruitment aspect has been draining however, I do enjoy the non-phone screen aspects of it. I enjoy consulting with managers and looking at comp, internal equity and providing data to my hiring managers. I would love to know if there is anyone that has done a similar pivot (whether it's recruiter, HR generalist, etc.) to a Comp Analyst and what that transition has been like.

How difficult would it be to start a career as a performance analyst for a premier league/championship side (or any EFL club for that matter)? I’m on the verge of closing out a final interview where my salary will go from $70k base/no bonus to $105k base+10% bonus. My title will go from senior analyst to manager. However, I’m going from Accenture to a startup that got acquired (has $2 bn parent company so bankruptcy isn’t going to happen) and I’ll be going from working with a young crowd to older people. I wouldn’t hit the comp the startup is offering for at least 3-4 yrs if I stayed at Accenture. Any advice/thoughts?

Im current at EY in a consulting group that does not focus on deals, but have completed few due diligence type engagements. We focus mostly on ODD (Operational Due Diligence) for private equity firms. I really want to make it into IB. I have an interview for a Valuation and Opinions Role. Would that help in transitioning in as an IB Analyst? I would have a substantial pay cut (100K to 85K - excluding bonus). My current experience has not been seen as valuable by recruiters.

I'm an HR Generalist with about 7 years of experience. What is the best way to learn more about Compensation? I've always wanted to dive deeper into that area of HR, however, until recently, I only have ever worked at larger organizations that claimed there wasn't time to cross train me or to help with comp projects.

So I’m a second year consultant. Like most, I was disappointed with compensation this year and am pretty bearish on my future earning potential here. I really wanted to stay til SC/M but the money is too good to pass up. I guess my question is: are there any major downsides to exiting to industry “too early?” Has anyone done it and regretted it?

When it comes to YOE in regard to salary, does it count if it’s not in consulting, but contributes to the skills required in the particular consulting role? (E.g., was an intelligence analyst, consulting role requires analyzing data and deriving insights, etc.)
