Just curious - anyone else think ‘LAX-it’ is incredibly frustrating and poorly designed? Or just me 😅

Anyone leave their first firm job and go to a second one that was a better fit/you felt more in stride at? Was it the firm or was it you finally getting your sea legs and knowing what to expect?

PSA don’t take taxis from LAX. Uber/lyft was surging ($70-$80 when usually $40) so I took a chance on a regular taxi and it was $100 ☠️🤡

I was just offered $155k for a labor attorney position at a firm in San Francisco. I’m not barred in CA yet, so they said they would give me a $10k bump if I pass the CA bar. According to Glassdoor this salary falls in the average. Is anyone a labor lawyer in SF, how much should I counter for? Thank you!

Hi all - I’m a TVC at Google and I work as a PgM. I earn around $125K USD (ATL). I caught a glimpse of our project budget and saw that Google is paying nearly $200K for me. I realize that the agency needs to earn their share too but it just seems unfair that they’re skimming $60K off the top. I’m going to ask for more $ at my renewal but my recruiter said they’d have to ask Google for more because they’re tapped out. Which I just found shocking considering I know the amt. should I ask for more?

For the 3rd time in as many weeks at JFK, I was patted down because my regular navy blue work pants indicated the prescense of metal objects! I had nothing on me and the pants are just regular run of the mill pants. I cannot fathom how this could happen. Any frequent travelers with ideas on why this is happening? Hate the public patdown especially if it keeps happening every week.

How do you avoid getting overwhelmed with matters? I think I do good work, and am very happy when I have one to three large projects taking a lot of time. But I start feeling panicky and at sea when I have a lot of things going on and emails flying back and forth, even if individually nothing is that hard or time consuming. Trying to get myself in a niche that fits my work style but I know it won't always be possible.
