What are the Big 4? Discussions

Do people know if the big 4 are all wfh and onboarding that way as well? Or have they started setting return to office dates?

Decided that I’m leaving audit today. Trying to understand the full range of opportunities in forensics. Will have my CPA and CFE. So far, I understand that there are client-serving firms like FTI and then the B4 will have forensics arms as well. What are some other forensic accounting roles? Pros and cons? Better than audit? Honestly just looking to learn anything.

I have got 6 years of experience and I have done MBA in finance. My last company was a Big 4. They are ready to pay me 9L and I require a 100% increment. will they give me 12 L? Should I accept 9 L?

Part of PwC deals with an accounting background. I’m currently pursuing a MS in data analytics. PwC deals has a data analytics group but I don’t want to put all my hope in an internal transfer. Has anyone here pivoted into a data analyst role from big 4? What did you do in order to make it happen?

For those that are familiar with the Big 4 AAS practice, which one has the largest market in NYC/Boston? I was extend a couple of offers and am having trouble deciding which one to take. TIA.

Has anyone left big 4 or other PA firms tax transaction service groups for industry (or know of anyone)? What was the role and salary bump, how are annual bonuses/raises in industry, what is a typical work week (hours) like? I don’t think I can take this always on just to stay afloat life much longer. For context I am considered a high performer, am near the top of the salary band at my level and have a great supporting network at Deloitte. It’s just not worth it to have zero personal life.

Anybody ever used your internal firm Bio/Profile (obviously scrubbed for client info) to apply to other B4? Finding its a lot easier to convey value and understand my background with my bio.

For those that left Big 4 after 1 year for a smaller public accounting firm, do you regret your decision or you’re glad that you left?

I am an Audit S1 that wants to work in a B4 Forensics practice. Would it be best for me to accept an offer in Forensics at a much smaller firm (local, 150ish total employees) to gain experience and then try to move to B4 Forensics? Or should I stay in Audit and wait for B4 Forensics positions to open up? Please let me know your thoughts!

Biz owners/entrepreneurs: Any tips on how to answer questions where the interviewer would want to know why I’d want to work for a company if I have my own. I’d want to reassure them that I have no intentions of leaving their company for mine or that there wouldn’t be competing priorities between us. I have a small photography biz. So, recently got put on a PIP after six months at my new job., two days after I told my boss and HR I recently learned I have a cognitive disability caused by an illness. The PIP was mostly because I forgot some deadlines, but also they said I need to be more professional in emails (even though others use zero punctuation and a lot of emojis. To clients.) and simultaneously ask more questions and ask fewer questions. Should I just assume this is unattainable and look for a new job again?
