Does anyone have tips or advice on how to approach reentering the workforce again? Previously ex Big 4 auditor at senior level and then left for a year+ to attend to personal family matters. Looking for senior/manager positions in industry. But would be open to other opps like CFGI and the likes if it’s the right fit.

Any advice for an SA in tech consulting (B4) that’s looking to pivot to PM work at a larger tech company? I don’t know anyone in the industry and don’t know where to start

I left Big 4 as an audit manager, is it possible for me to go back to public accounting and come in as a senior manager or is that an unrealistic expectation? I’ve been gone for less than 2 years.

So I came from another big 4 right and all in the name of “we want you to learn our methodology” they’re having someone below me review my work. Doesn’t that create a friction in the future if I want to review that persons work as a senior?

Received 2 offers from an accounting firm and one from an engineering firm. Both pay are good with a slight difference of $2K. Accounting is within the audit space and as an admin, work is 7 hours, get summer off and benefits start on first day. Engineering firm is 8 hours a day and benefits doesn’t start after 3 months probation. The accounting firm employs only 250 (not a big 4). Engineering firm only 90 people but they’re growing. Kindly help with some sound advice. Thank you 🙏

I'm having trouble deciding which roles or levels to target for an exit to in industry. I have several years of ops management prior to moving into PA as Staff. Currently a manager in tax at big 4 and ideally would want to go to prior industry at a mid-size or small company as CFO. Looking for insight to other roles I may be overlooking.

I've heard and experienced a lot of negative aspect of working in US tax like extremely poor work life balance, no scope for switching to companies other than big 4 etc.

Everything around me has taken a toll. I’ve tried both big 4 and industry and I really don’t like either side, but I don’t know where to pivot to. Part of me wants to drop everything, travel and start my own business but idk if that’s the best thing to do amid recession fears… could really use some advice :/

I just got an offer from a startup in India putting my total comp to 40LPA(incl. vested stocks work 8kUSD and I also have an offer from a big 4 in the London for 65250GBP + benefits.

Any thoughts on comparing the two options?

I like audit and plan on riding out public accounting until at least senior manager. Part of the reason I’m considering a move is to have more family time. Am I crazy for thinking big 4?
