I come from a pure healthcare background and have minimal finance skills/experience. Want to eventually get in healthcare investing in a MM PE fund.

Is there anyway that I can start to make moves on this, while at my Big 4? Who are the best types of folks to reach out to at my Big 4?

Anything I should get smart on? Websites, podcasts, books to read?

Anyone here who made the exit from Big 4/MBB consulting to a VC? If so, I’d love to hear about how the experience is so far. (Not to mention the WLB and comp!) I’m considering a career change but have no one in my network I can go to for insights. Thx! 🙏🏾

Currently a big 4 intern applying to mbb/T2 firms, but want to know if there are any jobs in tech that offer similar compensation right out of undergrad. I’m also not a cs or swe major so it would have to be a non-tech role.

I have got an offer for Manager level at a Big 4 in Consulting. People who are 3-4 years juniors at my MBA college are at Manager level and might get promoted sooner than me. Also, a couple of immediate juniors are at Senior Manager level.

Have you been in a similar situation? Is it awkard? How to handle it after joining?

PS: If you are wondering, I do not have a Big 4 or consulting experience while they have it.

I have got the ey hr mail stating i should provide him with aadhar card, information sheet and latest resume for a audit and assurance contract for 6 months as iam a semi qualified CA.

Here my question is should i take this opportunity. Cause since this is only for 6 months. After that, what i can do, where should I try to get the job?

In mid size firms, people won't pay as much as big 4 pays.

Should I take it or am I making a mistake by taking this.

Made the pivot from Big 4 to Bain and frankly underwhelmed. Seems like Bains Ops capabilities / general knowledge resources / white papers are lagging the industry quite a bit. Miles behind BCG / McKinsey as well. Literally only good for PE and nothing else.

What sales/revenue targets are there for BDM or senior manager in Big 4? Per month/quarter/annum? Please share both given target and achieved also?

A week or so ago, someone shared a stacked bar chart of each MBB/Big 4 firm that highlighted the percentage of consultants that say they work 40, 50, 60 hours etc a week at each firm. At some Big 4 companies there is a Partner / Principal group that has equity and are part owners of the business and an equivalent Managing Director group that does not have equity and are essentially employees.

I regret not applying to Harvard. I never thought I’d get into a top school and then got into wharton with a 100k fellowship - which changed my entire perspective. It sucks thinking “what if…”. I just didn’t have the confidence and thought wharton was a reach so why bother with H/S 🙃 hope this inspires someone to just shoot their shot - you never know

Had an offer for 30% more , a promotion to manager, extra week of vacation to switch firms. I love where I am at with my clients and there is a lot of potential there. Should I stay the course?

Left PA and started industry remotely. Haven’t been in the office. Met my team one time. Tips are to always be on video for even the smallest of calls. Take a ridiculous amount of notes. In downtime, go through your notes and come up with questions by reperforming old work. Set up recurring question sessions with your team so you know what to do next time. Set up performance meetings even monthly because it’s hard to get a gauge on your performance

Becoming less and less interested in continuing with the CPA exam. Staff 2 studying for a year with 0 exams passed. What're my options without finishing? I don't think I will actually be able to pass.......

I feel like I tanked the BEC MCQs but felt good on the writing and sims. Ughhhhhhhh I got in the 70s on my practice and that felt so bad and hit all my weaknesses. I still have to do FAR, but do I switch back to BEC potentially or is it better to wait it out for scores?
