Hi Everyone,

I have overall 4 years of experience. Starting 3.4 years I worked in Infosys as a data engineer (python, docker ,cloud, databases,NLP,etl). I switched to Amex as a Product Owner.

Is it wise to switch again to tech side with slightly less compensation ?

Also how is amex in terms of job security seeing recent layoffs and recession going on

I am currently a CSR for a beverage company. My territory sales manager is leaving and I have been offered the position. It’s a 10 dollar a hr pay raise for me but salary. I currently make lots of over time so my checks would be similar. In 6 months I am moving states. Should I take the position for the experience so I can get a better position in a new company starting out or should I stay where I’m at.

I didn't know that spouses of H1B can't work in USA, until I saw a recent post is in this group. Should I say no far H1B . I have option of Canada and UK visa as well. But if I am selected in H1B lottery than I can't ask for any other visa untill it expires @

I am currently working with a UK firm(not Big4) , started remotely from India , visa process is going on.
I noticed PWC uk vacancy and I applied few days ago , on their website it's 'under review' since past 6 days now.
Do you guys know how long will it take for them to contact me (or to reject). ?

Curious: What’s your credit card spending like? Do you pay it off in full every month? Minimum? You just deal with the interest rate?

(I realize it’s biased asking folks who joined a Personal Finance bowl as they’re more money conscious than the avg person. Still interested to know! TYIA)

H1B visa folks - how do y’all with the cope with the stress of layoffs and economic downturns? I have a US degree and I don’t have a license to practice law in my home country, so I’m very scared of having to move back (bc I don’t know what I’m going to do). Lots of attractive jurisdictions for US qualified lawyers like Singapore and London are difficult to penetrate right now. Any thoughts?

Left Deloitte with a ~$100 outstanding balance on my corporate card from final week travel expenses that posted after I had already left. The Amex website says the card’s now been cancelled. Do I need to worry about the balance (e.g. risk of damaging my credit score), or can I just leave Deloitte and American Express to sort this out?

Will Amex restricting guess access for Centurion Lounge actually make any difference?

I can see short term changes but the way Amex has been aggressively marketing Platinum card, we just will have overcrowding of primary card holders 🤷🏻‍♂️

What's next, everyone has to spend min. 50k a year to get Centurion lounge access or pay per visit.
