Had a great initial chat with a recruiter who then scheduled a chat with the CD’s. I’m super excited except the salary the recruiter gave was lower than what I’m aiming for. Do I go through the interview and negotiate again after or is that number set in stone?

Interview Question: Understanding how many layers we usually have for interviews, how do you flex yourself when you are pitching the professionals to get the position? Do you usually repeat the same history told on the previously round or try to present “new assets”?

Hey creatives. So it’s been a minute since I’ve interviewed a (non-junior) creative. Knowing we’re already familiar with a candidates work/portfolio by the time you chat, what are some compelling questions you like to ask (or have been asked) that helps you learn more about a creative and what makes them a good fit? Do you have a “go-to” question? Or have you been asked one that made you say “wow that’s an interesting question...” or we’re unprepared for type thing? Thanks!

Multiple job offers?! Negotiating salary?! HELP!!

I’m expecting 3 offers within the next week: one verbal offer that is working on approval for more money, One where the recruiter is worried over the prospect of a bidding war (allegedly can make their recruiting firm look bad) and another that has expedited the interview process since they know I have the other two.

I like all 3 opportunities (one is a slight favorite) but what is the smartest way to approach salary negotiation?

Should I bother with the thank you note if the interview didn't go too well?

Realistically, how honest should I be in an exit interview? I know in theory I should be 100% honest in order to stay true to myself, help the place I’m leaving improve, etc...but the reality is there are relationships, politics and reputations on the line. I want to be honest but also want to leave on a good note/ not piss anyone off. I’m torn about what level of honest to be. (And yes, I know I could be honest while also being respectful, but even if I do that, I know people will be offended.)

💁 When a role you were about to interview for gets terminated

I’ve been applying for roles for 6 months and interviewed with over 10 companies and still can’t land anything. Even the most promising of opportunities have fell through. I have impressive experience and I’ve worked on huge brands, and I never get any feedback from interviewers that tells me where I’m missing the mark - “the team loved you”, “you were great!” I’ve done everything - mock interviews, resume reviews, networking and I’m beyond discouraged about where I am right now. What to do😕

How much time would you actually spend preparing for an interview?

I’m in the final stages of interviewing for two companies. I’m making the transition from account to client side, so it’s a big move. Anyway, last night I heard from one company that they’d be writing me an offer. Do I tell the other company? And what do I say? I’m a long shot for the role and don’t want to look like an asshole

I had a second round interview for an entry-level Investment Analyst position with OMG exactly 2 weeks ago.

Today I got a call from a woman with Primerica (financial services) saying she was given my info & that they were interested in me. We had a mini chat & we set up a longer one for tomorrow.

Do you think OMG gave my info out instead of a direct no? Is it a good sign she reached out to me so fast? Is she a headhunter or just a recruiter?

Asked to write a case study as part of interview for a data analyst role! Anyone have any suggestions on what cases might be best? I was thinking of using an insight (from a past campaign) but am afraid it’s too specific and not something that can be applied to all campaigns.

does an intro call with a recruiter/headhunter need a follow up thank you email, or just actual interviews?

Interviewing remotely for a startup headquartered in Berlin next week. Any advice on etiquette, what to expect, etc. Based in US.

Five one on one interviews. References checked. Didn’t get the gig. Not enough relevant experience? I mean what? Over qualified if anything at all. Guess it’s a sign that I’m happier independent perhaps! Bring it on.

I get nothing but rejection emails and next to no interviews after CDs have said I have a good book.

Need some info: I'm looking for a new position and came across an opportunity at a media+creative agency as an Account Director. What're the main changes I can expect if I was to pivot from a purely creative agency in account management to a media+creative agency within the same dept? I'm going in for first interview soon and wanted to try to learn what I can in the interim.

Multiple jobs I’ve interviewed for pre-Corona weren’t posted online. It sounds like BS people telling me all junior roles are posted online.

I keep applying for jobs at Facebook yet never hear back. I feel like I’m screaming into the void by applying online. I’ve also tried cold connecting with FB recruiters on LinkedIn with no luck. How would you recommend I break through? Anyone at FB here down for a virtual coffee/chat?

What should you expect in a Creative Director interview? Do you still show your work or is it more about management style and speaking skills?

My dream agency interviewed me. Asked who my seniors were and poached one of them.

I am a little rattled by this experience. Did they only interview me to see who the seniors are and what everyone did? Is this okay for agencies to do?

Hi fishies! Over the past 2.5 weeks I’ve had two interviews with an agency. I thought both interviews went really well, and they said the same. After the first I heard back quickly to schedule the second. Now after the second it’s been a little over week with no follow up on next interview. Is it too early to send a follow-up? Would you follow-up at all?

How long after an interview with a CD do you typically hear back? It went really great (i think) a lot of “well definitely get back to you”, responded to my thank you note, etc. What happens next? Reference checking?

Would it be dumb to do a teams interview for another agency on my work laptop?

If I signed an NDA for a project i completed, what am i allowed to say and not say? I want to talk about my experience with recruiters and at future interviews, and show work. Am I allowed to tell them the name of the client and the type of work at the very least? Can I send recruiters a password protected link to the work?

I'm so frustrated. I've been working for 10 years and I can't get an interview for Senior AD roles, but I get tons of enthusiastic calls for Intermediate ones. Im doing the work of a senior now - concepting alone, working direct with clients, guiding the odd junior - and I do a lot of stuff for the community at large that shows leadership (like conference stuff).

I've had CDs review my book and they say my work is great. Why can't I land a senior job? I want to manage, I have good ideas. WTF?

I’m interviewing at an agency in Nashville and have been working in San Francisco for 8 years. What might be a realistic salary range for a director position in a “tier-2” city like Nashville or Denver vs a NYC or SF?
