In need of a gut check: I lateraled a year and a half ago to move to a location closer to my husband’s parents. I loved my old firm and was given good opportunities and was extremely cautious about lateraling, so I asked many questions during my interviews, including whether associates made their hours. I was assured they always did. Day 1 at the new job starts and it turns out I was hired with another associate for the same position. I can now go weeks at a time with just a few hours of work.

Got an interview opportunity at an IB recently for an Analyst role. I’m a Senior consultant with a Masters Degree with 2 years of work experience. When I asked if they’d offer me Associate instead of Analyst, they said that no one from B4 exits to an IB at associate with just 2 years of work ex. Is this true? Please offer any advise on how I should proceed further. Thanks.

Went through the first round interview at EY w 2 managers, with HR saying that I'll be due for the next round with Partner or Associate Partner soon (this was mid December 2020) - just got updated that they have chosen to proceed with another candidate 😭😔 Really wanted this role to pan out - numb doesn't come close to how I feel right now

Can anyone provide guidance on how to go about applying to BCG as an experienced hire? The postings I see online are for more senior level roles. Is it possible to enter as an experienced hire associate?

However, an analyst position just opened up internally in Credit, which is where I aspire to be for the next ten years. More growth and more intellectual challenge. I’m conflicted about applying for a lateral transfer and losing out on a promotion. Will I be missing out a promotion or should I negotiate a promotion as part of my application to this role ?

Is it a smart career move to interview for SWFs in the Middle East (especially Mubadala and ADIA)? How does an Associate position in these funds compare to a mega fund in London (comp, progression, WLB, type of deals etc.)

Hey fishes! I applied to a BCG Asia office 12 months ago with a partner referral & got auto-rejected. I didn't really know the partner well but he offered to refer me anyway after a 10 min call.
