if you lateral over as an experienced hire (2nd year associate or 1st year senior) to another consulting firm, how do interviews work? Should I expect case interviews?

Not trying to do this but just curious: if one was counseled out from a firm, would they have any luck applying to that same firm in a few months or years? At the same role or a more senior role?

Why are some firms so strict with the yoe policy? Spoke to the partner for a manager role and they said I’m short 5 months for the manager role - this is after all the interviews and I’ve performed. Now they want me as a senior associate for 1 year before I can be a manager

Is blazer + button down acceptable for interviews via Skype? Or should I throw on a tie as well when speaking to senior managers / partners? I want to be respectful but don’t want to look like a hardo

Interviewing for a Corp strategy role and first interview (after recruiter) is with a senior exec in HR for 90 minutes. Rather than anyone I would be working with day to day. What is typically discussed? Seems long?

If a Senior Manager / Director from a Big 4 wants to jump to MBB or T2 (think OW, Kearney, LEK), what level could they aspire for? Consultant is too many levels down, is Engagement Manager / Project Leader etc possible and if so, recommended? Or is the advice not to jump and stick till Partnership at Big 4? Interviewing with a boutique consulting firm for senior associate tech consulting role in Texas. 5 years of total experience: 3 yoe in technical roles, 2 yoe in big 4 consulting. Boutique firm says their pay is competitive if not higher than big 4. What base salary should I expect and ask for?

I did not realize how underpaid I was at my current firm/ position until I started applying for my same position elsewhere and saw the base starting salary at some companies/ other firms is around 10,000 more than where I’m at salary wise in my current firm (62k, HCOL, Senior Associate 1)

Hi! I’m a senior in college and I’ve seen folks here interviewing for BCG, and I assume that they are in the process for experience hires. I want to know if campus recruiting for full time is picking back on as well (for this year start in a few months) since recruitment was basically non existent last fall.
