For those who left big law - is there such a thing as a 9-5 legal job? Doesn’t have to pay nearly close to big law salary, as long as I’m free to have dinner with my family and watch my kid grow up. No hate, please - I know big law is not for everyone and it’s definitely not for me. For context, I have no debt and I’m about to have my first child. I’m a 4th year corporate associate.

What should I expect for McK EM offer? The recruiter told me today $192k base, $50k bonus and $24k signing. I was also told an associate signing is $30k but the smaller amount is due to a higher bonus than associates. Am I missing something or are they lowballing me? I thought the base would have been in the $220k range but maybe not. TIA

I have 6 years of experience at major banks and credit rating agencies, live in a high cost of living city, and am a senior analyst/associate. What kind of base salary do you think I could expect? I tried Glassdoor but it wasn't super helpful (the closest job description they have enough data for is "quantitative modeler", which includes a lot of fintech-style jobs that aren't entirely comparable).

Offered a Director of Strategy role in a fun and fast growing industry (think media/tech/entertainment). Total compensation is $260K (180K base, rest is RSU and bonus)

Currently I am up for EM in ~6 months and TC is ~$220. I’m not excited by my current job, but I don’t hate it either.

I think the new opportunity is in an exciting space but not sure if I’m doing the right thing by leaving at this point of my tenure (not interested in becoming a Partner) Help?
