Why is there an overlap / inverse correlation between salary and designation? For example there are senior consultants making a lot more than managers, and managers making a lot more than SM.

Partners are the GM’s. They run the high level operations and hiring/comp decisions.

SM’s are the Quarterbacks. They run the entire show/engagement from top to bottom.

At Accenture, bonuses are terrible. SM salary for Strategy is $200 for first year and 15k annual increase. Bonus as little as 10k

I'm a SM in cyber security making approx 200k in total comp located in the south. Cant really think of or find any interesting opps that wouldn't require a significant step down in pay. Any ideas?
