Would you leave top bank in Canada when you are 18 months into role as Branch Manager and just about ready to move on to next role for a 45% salary increase, no commute (down from 80km one way), but you need to be BM for 3 more years at different Big5 bank?

Asking for wife who's also in banking. If she got ~$100k in signing bonus in 2019 for 1 year commitment in CA and started FT in July 2020, assuming she leaves before July 2021, can her employer claw back full amount in California? Some say it's much tougher to do so under CA law but wonder if anyone has any insights. Banks won't likely care about analyst signing bonuses, but associate bonus at EB with diversity bonus can be significant. If she quits before, she won't be going to another bank.

What would u do? 3 YOE HCOL city and I have 2 potential options:
1) move to a boutique healthcare strategy consulting firm in a similar role as I have now (client facing consulting role).. 120-130 base + 20% bonus
2) a product specialist role at Meta (FB). This told role product management, it’s analytics heavy. $107k base, 10% bonus, $30K stock.

At the end of the day, TC for both is similar. As far as exit opportunities I’m not sure what is better, so looking to get other people’s opinions.

Hey all. I had a recruiter reach out about a job posting I applied for through LinkedIn. One of the first questions she sent through email were my salary expectations. I don’t want to underbid myself without hearing about the salary range from her first. Is there a good way to respond to this questions w/o giving her a $ amount just yet?

I’ve been working at my current company for 11 years, for the past year I have been waiting for a promised promotion. I have been fully remote for 7 years pretty much good work life. Busy. In April they said I have the job still waiting. I am a project accountant III to a finance business manager.Could be long nights &stress. Still unknown pay maybe 20k increase.. Last week I was offered a govt job at NGA (Budget analyst) 40k increase not guaranteed remote. 45 min drive +retirement

💲For those who DON'T think a six figure salary is possible:

👉Just ask for it. Really, you would be surprised. Might be easier to switch to a new company and ask. I did that 3 years into my career.

And 🛑 wasting your time at a company that under-values you severely. Sometimes switching companies every 2 years or so will allow you to keep raising the bar for yourself.

Hi, this is a bit early but thought y’all might have some good insight. I’m exiting my current startup & have two offers on the table 1. A successful small startup in NYC doing PE/niche executive recruiting and 2. a fairly reputable PE consulting group in Austin. I’m going through the recruitment process at McKinsey for a middle/back office role (capabilities for a really cool space) but by the time I hear back, one of my offers won’t be on the table. Any advice on what’s best for MBA apps?
