Think I’m about to get an offer from Deloitte for an SC position in a niche area of transaction services. Currently at 18 months of experience. The offer is in NYC and the group sounds like they work close to IB hours. What would be a fair salary to negotiate up to?

When Ogletree announced its modified associate bonus I heard it also announced a one-time bonus for non-equity shareholders in addition to NES’ standard bonus program. Any insight if associates can also expect a one time bonus in addition to the standard bonus program?

T3 firm reached out re: direct admit to the partnership with some runway to grow the practice. I am at a firm now where there aren’t bright line metrics to make PPMD, but think I could make it in 2-5 years. This would be a step down in brand, but might be better from a WLB and getting to start at partner. Haven’t had firm comp talks yet but range was well north of 50% increase in cash comp from current (plus LT equity, draws, etc). Anyone take $ over brand? what are some traps to watch for?

When you alt travel do you: A) Report the extra flights as a regular business expense [non-taxable] or B) Claim them as taxable reimbursement [taxable as compensation to you]?

Working Moms/Dads: Do in-house positions exist with flex time hours? I need to be able to leave work at 4pm to pick up my son from daycare, but i can get back online at home to resume any unfinished work at 8pm. Is this realistic to convey to any companies in an interview? Pandemic aside, is face time 9-7pm really important? People who are happy that the office is dead should reconsider. If the office is dead wouldn't that mean more outsourcing and less TC forward? Isn't it short sighted to think jobs will stay in the US if they are remote considering how expensive it is to hire here?
