Someone posted earlier this week about people not having 20% down payment to buy a house. That got me thinking ... Is it true that there are people who don't have enough food? How can that be? Sam…

Lots of parallels between being a butler and being in client services! Check out 1:25… client throwing roadblocks 😂😂😂🤣🤣! https://youtu.be/ow7KcAYtmSw…
Staying at a few St. Regis properties for my honeymoon. First time staying there. What can you use the butler service for?
Should I expect a promotion to essentially be in writing? This entire "promotion" seems to be theoretic over the last 6 months. I was about to quit yesterday and now the position I didn't think I was going to get is starting to come around;timing couldn't be crazier. Should I give them an ultimatum? I just received an insane offer but I want to stay.
Anyone in this bowl did the CAMS exam? If so, is this an exam that can be passed without AML experience?
Hi Sales Community - I’m moving from a Mid-Market sales position into Enterprise sales and would love to use this ramping period to enhance my skills. After being in sales for 4+ years I feel decently confident in my sales acumen but I never received any formal training or held an SDR role so I’ve always felt a bit underprepared. I was wondering if anyone has a good sales book recommendation that might be beneficial for me to check out as I head into a more senior role? Thanks!
Has anyone seen or discussed this Petition for SHRM must support Black Lives Matter & the LGBTQ community? I’ve grown increasingly concerned and disappointed in SHRM’s lack of vocal support for employment protections for LGBTQ+ and black and brown workers, especially as a black woman in HR. It seems like SHRM is overly focused on what is absolutely “legal” and not what is right. I’m of the opinion HR professionals must not only be “legal” but have a relevant and compassionate stance
Question for you sales and saas guys. I work for a fast growing startup and we are billing around 200 K a month. I am in charge of the sales team and our CFO mandates that we collect ACH payment information on every agreement. The problem with this is we have to reel in micro deposit amounts from customers and it feels like herding cats. I’ve worked for three great tech companies and I’ve never had ACH nor have I ever paid for services with ACH. Is this a totally dated process?
First year attorney- working at a boutique law firm for about 10 months. Just had a PIP sent to me. What do I do?
Can anyone recommend a certificate or course that is actually useful for developing professionals and/or reviewing performance? I don’t want/need something that is just a credential, I’m actually looking to get some formal grounding in these two topics so I can overhaul processes at my consulting firm. Thanks for your advice!!!
Hoping to get my PHR in the next year or so. Outside of employer reimbursement, are there other opportunities for this to get funded? I know SHRM Foundation offers scholarships for the CP, but I am looking for PHR specific help. Thank you! :)
What percentage is a realistic expectation for a yearly raise at a small firm with great work life balance and no hour requirement?
What are some best practices for handling an employee with dare I say, too much initiative? They tend to steamroll others and processes because they are so fast at their job and rather than taking a breather when done, start digging around for new projects outside of their scope. We value them but want to ensure others are given opportunity to thrive too.
Does having parents/family members who are attorneys give someone a leg up either in law school or in the first year of practice?
2nd year associate here. Has anyone made a jump from a boutique firm to big law? I found out that I’m a front runner for a gig with an Amlaw 100. I never thought I’d have this chance having graduated from an unranked law school and still being so junior. Even though the firm asked if I’d be willing to start as a 1st year given my lack of litigation experience, it’s still a monumental upgrade/ jump. I’m nervous about the culture shock and whether I’ll cut it. Could really use some advice!
I’m mid-level in my HR career at my current company and an upcoming Master’s graduate. Studying for my SHRM-CP too. How did you make the transition to that next level? What skills do you need, or is it really just based on YOE (I am the youngest compared to my teammates, many who have 10+ YOE)? I feel like career pathing is not very clear at my company. Each time I ask for guidance on this from my manager, I get told they’ll look into it.... would love some external mentorship and thoughts 🙏🏼
Hello, We are a growing company of 250 employees. We are considering Performance Management solutions. I would love get feedback on anyone's experience with any of the below solutions? Kazoo Engagedly Perform Yard CultureAmp Thanks!!
Are you folks happy with your decision to make a career in sales? I’m young working in tech sales, but also have my bachelors in psychology, and could see my self happily going for my masters maybe even PHD and being a counselor.
Thoughts/experience on moving from NYC big law to Miami big law? Hours, work/life balance, salary, etc.
For those of you who spent the time and money to get the PHR or SHRM certifications, do you feel that it actually strengthened your professional capabilities as on HR professional, or did you just do it to fit into the “HR Professional” crowd?
I’m currently am a core and advanced comp lead and thinking of getting another certification... would you recommend taking Learning or Talent+Performance? Long term goal is solution architect.
Any idea how much bonus UBS directors in Ops typically make at year-end? Recently moved to the firm and the recruiter was quite hush-hush about the bonus range during salary negotiations
Advice on taking and passing the SPHR exam?
Where are all those folks 2 weeks ago pointing to Florida, Texas, and Georgia as beacons of leadership for opening up quickly? Have your opinions changed, and do you wear masks?
Has anyone ever been in a position where you had to witness cheating? Significant others friend wants to bring a +1 that isn't their wife and I am really against being put in this position.
Father’s Day suck for anyone else out there? My dad is alive, but we aren’t currently communicating. I’m in therapy, trying to be a better parent than I was taught to be by my father. I see all of these posts about “Daddy’s girls” and I can’t relate. Everything I’ve accomplished in life has been despite the messages I got from him (not thin enough, not cool enough, not talented enough), certainly not because of any encouragement or support. I miss the father I never had.
What is the AFS interviewing process like?
Thoughts on hugging co-workers? Never in a work setting, but as a part of every hello at a firm connectivity event. I’m a female, but don’t feel weird about it. Should I?
AA Flight cancelled (personal travel) due to weather and rebooked for tomorrow. I can get to another airport nearby where there’s a Delta flight that’s direct tonight - best way to approach? Used CSR
FB family, we may be expecting twins. Any suggestions on baby names? Want to keep it traditional yet simple. Thinking of - Prem and Maya/Myra.. Thoughts on this?
I just accepted a position and started last week and got another interview from Amazon to which I applied like a month ago. In a fix, it’s a dream workplace but don’t want to burn bridges. It’s still initial rounds and don’t even know if I will make it to amz.
Hi fish there 🐠 What are the differences between the first round interviews and the second round? Id like to know where to focus on for the second round interviews preparation. How did your second round interviews go before? What kind of suggestions you would offer? Would really appreciate you sharing the experience 🙌🏼
What are some of the best opportunities in industry if one was to exit as an SC in human capital with significant experience in org change management, design, and talent strategies?
Question on tipping. For a hotel valet (~$40/day), how much should I tip each day? Should I tip when I drop off and also pick up? This is a long term project so I will be tipping them everyday.
I am currently 6 weeks pregnant after a successful FET. I just went to the restroom and noticed blood on my pantry liner. After a couple of wipes, it’s clear. I am so terrified. I just emailed my doc.
