How do you deal with toxic opposing counsel? The miserable aggressive bully type who have to make things personal and attack you/your firm for no reason?
Hi all, I worked at a big law firm for 4 yrs, and I’ve been in-house for 5 years. As a side hustle, I built a tool to improve efficiency for certain transactional lawyers and am looking to sell to those law firms. Are partners/law firms these days more willing to leverage technology tools to save time, even though they are sort of incentivized to bill as much as they can under a yearly billables model?
Anyone had experience joining military reserve while employed as a lawyer? Challenges leaving for basic, drills, etc.? I have a huge desire to serve, but don’t want to lose my job as a result.
I need to approach a manager who has received several comments that there is perceived favoritism. They have a team of hard, strong workers who have been with the company for years. A great new employee was hired several months ago with a strong technical skillset. The manager constantly praises this employee in front of the rest of their team, and consistently says comments like, "(New employee)" is the best person EVER to do this task!" making colleagues feel like their previous work in successfully getting that task done for years is unvalued. Any advice for how you would approach the manager, or how you would advise the employees who are submitting complaints?
Is there such thing as a corporate solo practitioner? Like someone who does strictly deal work? I’ve only ever seen litigators.
