I’m getting texts from my Director past 10pm on weekday evenings. What do you do to set boundaries with your leaders? How do you let them know that you are in their corner, while still setting boundaries?
https://www.pipedrive.com/ This weeks technology highlight is Pipedrive. My company still does not have a formal CRM. I went out and found my own.
How do you communicate with employees who don't want to wear masks? Unbelievable to me people still have issues grasping this need.
Hi! What are your companies doing regarding sign on bonuses for interns this year? We ended up having our full intern program this summer and plan to extend offers. Are companies getting rid of sign on bonuses for entry level employees this year? Any insight would be appreciated!
Any recommendation on where to find/recruit engineers with specialized skills? Specifically scala.
I’m currently in campus recruiting&really would love to move to a new organization, however, Im pregnant&am expecting in January. I feel like no one will consider my candidacy seriously after hearing i am expecting. I know hiring managers can’t discriminate against hiring me because I’m pregnant, but I also dont want to be dishonest that if I start anything, I would be heading out on maternity shortly. How would you proceed? Suck it up being miserable at current company and try the switch after?
This statement made by a colleague infuriates me: “HR has the responsibility but not the authority to change disinterested leadership" Just makes me think what's the point then? Do you agree?
Hello I’m an HR Specialist with 6 years exp and I’ve worked with Fortune 500 companies and now I’m looking to transition into a people and culture role in a start up space but I’m having trouble with highlighting my skills to showcase that I’d be a good fit and have the necessary experience. I find startups want someone with startup experience. Any insight?
Has anyone written the CHRL Employment Exam in Canada - Ontario specifically. What was your experience like and how did you prepare?
You’re expecting a signature required package and all of a sudden mail man rings the doorbell during your teams meeting...what do you do?
A few days ago I was offered a role for a recruiter with a company. Benefits, PTO, pay is decent, enough to get me by. I accepted today because it was the final day to do so. I was then called by a recruiter for another company, in which they made me a better offer for a Generalist and I want to take this one. What do I do? I didn’t sign a contract, there’s no clause that states I need to take the position.
Curious, how many companies out there have a dedicated learning and development team? If you don't, who is responsible for the development of your employees?
Hey gang - what non-monetary retention strategies have you seen work? In the COVID-19 world, raises seem unlikely. What are some ways we can reward the good ones?
I have seven years' experience in executive search (based in APAC but have worked on global roles) and want to leave the industry for either an in-house talent role or a consulting firm. I haven't had much luck when I've applied for internal roles in the past. Do I have any chance at getting an in-house talent acquisition role, or is an executive search skill set just regarded as too weird/not the right fit for internal talent teams?
I’ve been tasked right off the bat with implementing Facebook Workplace as an engagement/communication tool. I looked it up and seems fairly easy, especially as a facebook user. But as with anything it can be a challenge to get employees to actually use/check it. So-- does anyone have experience with Facebook Workplace? If so, what are some things that have worked/didn't work for you. Do you like it?
I posted a question a week or so ago about how to read 10-K's. Today, I found a sales summit that is coming up that has a presentation on this topic. I posted the link below if yall want to check it out. https://www.linkedin.com/showcase/sales-success-summit
Currently, I have an employee who is struggling. Missing deadlines, making false promises to clients etc. Recently, I sat in one of his development sessions with his manager, and I was shocked at how disengaged he was and how junior he actually vs what we pay him. After some further investigation, we are afraid he lied on his resume and how his experience. How do you go about a situation such as this? This is a first for me.
Do you plan to grind it out in the consulting lifestyle until retirement OR do you have an early exit strategy (start-up, real estate inv., early retirement, etc.)? If so, how and at what age?
Senior 3. Got offer for AVP at big bank and Consultant at a new division for a mid-sized company. Salary wise both good. Both profiles are very different. Any idea which will be better in long term.
I always hear about guys I’ve worked with who start a new job at a new company and get a huge bump in salary. I’ve gotten a couple offers recently but no big jumps... what am I doing wrong??
Any MBA ever use a recruiting firm rather than on-campus recruiting to get into a strategy practice?
For those that went to a m7 MBA, using a scale from 1-10 how much did you feel you learned (and state what school)?
Explain the expense reimbursement process at PwC and Deloitte. I travel every week, and EY's GT&E has gotten to be ridiculous to the point where it's disruptive and is distracting me from my work.
Client to me “I didn’t think you’d have to be on-site this week” and I, salty about the fact that I did have to travel this week, replied “I’m just here so I don’t get fined” and kept typing #done
I’m a 1st year and have accepted a job to work at a MM PE firm starting Aug. 2020. PE firm has said I can start Aug. 2019 if I want. What are the repercussions of leaving MBB after one year?
I’m a lazy investor and don’t want to think about my money, so I invest my Roth IRA and 401K into a Vanguard target fund (2065). Should I be doing more with my money?
I’m in the OHG network. Pretty junior. Can you tell me if we need to be worried? I’m Scared. Keep seeing here about omnicom. WFH makes all this agency stuff feel so much bigger than little ‘ol me.
Promoted to Sr.Analyst this round. How do I start compensation conversations to increase my percentage of salary increase?
Does anyone from Bain know about NPS Prism? Is it a onshore coder house? What is your thought on that? Should people move from PwC advisory to Bain NPS Prism?
Is it weird that “i don’t care” was one of my favorite responses that i got when i came out? We’re trained to view that phrase as lackadaisical and complacent, but to me, it spoke larger (cont’d.)
Yay or nay? External linking to partner sites that are relevant but low quality (no SSL, low domain authority, bad content/UX). The fight is on at work today. How do you all feel?
