6th year litigation associate here. Every recruiter tries to scare me into thinking I’m unhireable after next year. Who has lateraled as an 8+ year, where to, and how long till you got promoted after?
Looking for feedback on Paylocity and UKG payroll HRIS. We have 250 employees and rapidly growing company.
I am a first year associate in Biglaw. I have been put on an improvement plan to increase my billable hours. My supervisors have commented that have not been getting work because I need to improve my efficiency. I am willing to do what it takes to improve but wonder how to improve my hours when no one seems willing to give me a second chance.
This might be a dumb question so pls excuse my ignorance but do non-equity partners get bonuses? Is that a thing?
Anyone else feel like work/billable hours gets in their way of taking care of their life? Hate having to choose between working to keep up with billables and taking care of my life whether that's the gym or whatever else. Feel like I never have enough time for both.
For those of you who spent the time and money to get the PHR or SHRM certifications, do you feel that it actually strengthened your professional capabilities as on HR professional, or did you just do it to fit into the “HR Professional” crowd?

Has anyone seen or discussed this Petition for SHRM must support Black Lives Matter & the LGBTQ community? I’ve grown increasingly concerned and disappointed in SHRM’s lack of vocal support for employment protections for LGBTQ+ and black and brown workers, especially as a black woman in HR. It seems like SHRM is overly focused on what is absolutely “legal” and not what is right. I’m of the opinion HR professionals must not only be “legal” but have a relevant and compassionate stance

Every place I go doesn’t seem to listen to me that my hair processes very quickly and I end up getting over processed.
