Anyone make the jump from National Security Financial Management to National Security Operations and Policy? Any advice or recommendations?
Security Financial Management, Inc.
Hoping to get my PHR in the next year or so. Outside of employer reimbursement, are there other opportunities for this to get funded? I know SHRM Foundation offers scholarships for the CP, but I am looking for PHR specific help. Thank you! :)
For those in b2b sales how are your orders placed most? Online, customer service or sales reps?
For those of you who spent the time and money to get the PHR or SHRM certifications, do you feel that it actually strengthened your professional capabilities as on HR professional, or did you just do it to fit into the “HR Professional” crowd?
Would you ask for a higher pay at a startup, due to the company not having a pension scheme for its employees?
How long, on average, did it take you to study before you could pass the PHR/SPHR exam? Did you think it was worth it?
Question for you sales and saas guys. I work for a fast growing startup and we are billing around 200 K a month. I am in charge of the sales team and our CFO mandates that we collect ACH payment information on every agreement. The problem with this is we have to reel in micro deposit amounts from customers and it feels like herding cats. I’ve worked for three great tech companies and I’ve never had ACH nor have I ever paid for services with ACH. Is this a totally dated process?
Now that networking events are virtual and limited opportunity for face to face meetings - how are new leads being generated besides website traffic. How do you "network" at virtual meetings and presentations?
Advice on taking and passing the SPHR exam?
I recently started at a larger software company as an AE. As I’m getting more into the process, I’m finding things odd. Like, cold calls and emails are metrics I’m judged on more than closed won business. I know that’s part of the job but it seems strange I’m judged on it so heavily. And, I seem to be the first real outside AE hire as everyone else seems to have been promoted up from SDR roles, including all of my direct management. I’m questioning if I made the right move. Stick it out or look?
Hey guys! Our teammate is going through a pretty tough time, I wasn’t sure if this would be appropriate to post, but seeing as though this is a sales group, and my man Braxton is a sales beast... I thought I could try posting and apologize later. If you can give please do, if you can share please, if you can pray please, please do. We’re so close to getting his expenses covered, and after all he’s done to show up to our team.. I’m trying to show up to him in my fullest capacity. Thank you!!
I’m trying to help people make the most out of every and any interview they are able to schedule right now. Which aspect of the interview process are you seeing fall apart most?
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
I’m mid-level in my HR career at my current company and an upcoming Master’s graduate. Studying for my SHRM-CP too. How did you make the transition to that next level? What skills do you need, or is it really just based on YOE (I am the youngest compared to my teammates, many who have 10+ YOE)? I feel like career pathing is not very clear at my company. Each time I ask for guidance on this from my manager, I get told they’ll look into it.... would love some external mentorship and thoughts 🙏🏼
"Coffee's for closers" is a classic scene. Any other scenes that get you boys pumped up for the day?
I would like to help those wanting to shift careers in HR, minorities, or women going back to the workforce, learn workday coding and ultimately help them get a job in the space. Is there any interest?
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
What training or guidance are you giving managers at your firms about managing hybrid teams? There is a lot out there on remote teams, but a lot of us are going back three days a week which means people at home and people in the room. Any tips to pass on?
Filed amendment and got RFE but project is over. Is it possible to withdraw this amendment with a pending RFE? I might start a new project within 3weeks and will need a new amendment. Thoughts?
Best spg property in Paris?
Maybe this is a confidence issue BUT: I'm scared to get an MBA worrying that I might not land a job offer once I get out.
About to roll off & trying to switch to commercial from federal. Is it bad for me to seek out projects in certain areas? Where I want to be is where I want to be right or is that looked down upon?
What are some health gadgets that you use? Have an apple watch, advanced smart body scale, blood pressure monitor, electric toothbrush 😁
Working on a long-haul flight: 5 mins booting laptop and finding the right doc, 2 mins working on it, 20 mins cleaning up desktop, 7 hours gazing out the window and making new life resolutions.
On my honeymoon in Fiji for 2.5 and first 5 days were great but we got to our next Bonvoy property and it’s a total dump. Cockroaches, etc. all hotels in area are booked out for days. Feel like...
I am currently 6 weeks pregnant after a successful FET. I just went to the restroom and noticed blood on my pantry liner. After a couple of wipes, it’s clear. I am so terrified. I just emailed my doc.
What is a fair market midpoint base salary at EY for a SM in Consulting SL such as Customer Practice or Business Transformation in the DFW market? I looked on GD but the range is very wide and difficult to drill down to what I am looking for. Thanks
Hi Everyone! Thought I’d share that my firm is hiring for audit seniors that have 2-3 busy seasons under their belt and looking for a jump to a smaller firm (35 people). We focus on benefit plan audits (only) and is a pretty unique firm. I left B4 after 2 years and came here 5 years ago and have been pretty happy with the switch. Definitely better work life balance and some unique benefits. It’s also still public accounting and auditing if you like the work. Happy to connect and talk more!
With reviews happening at Golin, what is your role and salary? How much was your raise? Were you promoted? How much was your salary boost? What city are you based in?
Are starting salaries for the same jobs different by school? Like for example would MBB/FAANG pay more for a HBS grad than a Booth grad? Or is it just that the HBS grad has better chances at landing the position, but the pay is the same?
I have an opportunity to open a brand new client relationship with the chief digital officer of a multi billion dollar company lol wtf do I do
Anyone have lemonade pet insurance? I’m confused by it, it says if I pay 18ish a month more, it covers vaccines, heart worm test, blood test etc but only up to a certain amount. So is it not 80% of my bill? Is another insurance company easier haha
Anyone willing to share their experience at broadhead? Considering a position there and would love to hear positives and negatives.
How much is IBM IMS hierarchical database suitable for EDW implementation for a mid-size insurance company? The company is insisting on using IMS, thoughts!!
BTC, same as the stock market goes, dropped 40% in the covid crash last year in a few days. It is an excellent store of value, like a fireworks factory next to a volcano stores value.
Y’all, I’m about to cry. I spent my entire workday plus got there early and stayed late to prep my classroom for in-person kiddos. I got an email at 4 saying the schedule changed and no one will be in my room now. I’m devastated...almost 10 hours of time wasted that could have been setting up virtual and planning/prepping lessons that I put off because I can do that from home. I’ll be working this weekend. What would you do/say?
